question
Should i read it?
Yes, I did. The thing that about this book is, it makes you forget that Lochan and Maya are brother and sister. And the probably the most disturbing thing you find is that, you realize you're ummm... rooting for them (Term I've seen on other reviews). I don't normally read Romance, but the synopsis was something that peeked my interest.
If it wasn't so well written, then I think this book would've failed to do everything I said above, and just be a creepy book.

I really think this is a book worth reading, I see many of the reviewers are single children and don't understand how reading this book could "weird out" people who have opposite sex siblings. B
But like Irsyad said, the book really doesn't make you view them as brother and sister. The work was wonderfully done and I am going to be recommending it to many of my family members to read.
I only picked this book up on a random Walmart trip when I had no reading material. I was curious on how a writer would be able to portray something so taboo as incest without...well making it quiet so taboo. Tabitha Suzuma is a fantastic writer and once I finish my list of books - I will be looking for more of her work.
I have an older brother, and still recommend you read this book.

i am taylor and i read this book im 13 and i recomend it to everyone i know!!!!!!!!!!!
This book was really different but i did like it ( made me cry) I have a brother myself and never could image going there but it was a emotional read and very good at dreawing a reader in!!!
i'm an only childand since i don't have brothers or sisters i really didn't mind reading this at all. but its totally worth reading!! it's gonna make you cry (i cried for an hour)!! and if you see past the incest you can see they are truly in love. and it's not just they have to struggle witha neglecting mother and they have to take care of their other siblings.
I thought the book would have a big "yuck" factor, but it was so well written, the author made it seem pretty plausible. It's worth reading. It'll make you cry.

I read this (as a grownup, I am 29) and although i thought there were many flaws in the writing and the plot, i couldn't put this down, and i do recommend it as a emotion filled read that will totally draw you in!
I have an older brother as well and this book didn't even put that thought into my head. Maybe because most siblings do not have the same working relationship as Lochan and Maya do. The teens in this book relied on each other for just about everything and in a way, they were acting like the mother and father in the home, like equal partners. No one else understood what they were going through except for each other.
Basically, it's pretty safe to read the book. It won't have any bearing on how you look at your relatives. :p
The story is beautifully written. Keep some tissue handy.

YES! If you havent read it you need to! It may be "wrong" per say but it will grab your heart... it is amaxingly written and I recommend it to anyone and everyone!

The book is really good i recommend it. The concept might be incest but the book will not have adverse effects unless you count broken heart, strong feelings of gloom and too many tissues lying around you.

It is an amazing book! You should read it even though the author wrote about such a taboo subject. You really wouldn´t think they were brother and sister with the way it was written and you will cry so much at the end so I suggest you get a box or two of tissues!
This book just intrigued me when everyone on GR said that it had a sad ending. Since I am a sucker for sad books, I willingly delved into the story, without even knowing what it was going to be about. (Imagine my surprise when I did find out...) I know that it does sound icky and uncomfortable, but when/if you do read the book, you will understand their situation and their love for one another. I couldn't put the book down because I just wanted to know what happens. This is something that, in my knowledge, hasn't been written about. So, there's that suspense that will keep you turning the pages.
I highly recommend this book, but you should really just read it if you are open minded. I can not put enough emphasis on 'being open-minded' because you there is not way you'll enjoy this book if you can't accept the incest thing. If you do, you will love this.
Let me know whether or not you decide to read Forbidden. If you do, I'd be interested to know what you think of it. Send me like a message or something, I don't know.

I would definitely recommend it but, as Katrina said, only if you're open-minded. I read it just yesterday. It is a really emotional book and the ending is heart-breaking. It sounds weird and wrong, but you can actually understand the reasons behind what happened. I wrote a review if anyone's interested.
I think their environment and circumstances make it plausible.
Though, the cynic in me wonders if they had been depicted as something other than physically beautiful and misunderstood whether I would have the same opinion. You know his jet black hair, her piercing green eyes, his angst.
Yes it is an incredible book, but also marketed to make you "root" for them (I hate that word, sorry).
