I'm looking for a book I had in elementary school [s]

From what I remember about this book is it's about a young girl (I think her name is Elizabeth) who is approached one day by a woman who claims to be her mother. The woman tells her that the people she thinks are her parents actually kidnapped her. She doesn't tell her parents about the woman she met or what she she told her. The rest the book is about her trying to figure out the truth.

That kind of sounds like 'The Face on the Milk Carton' by Caroline B. Cooney . Except that the girl's name is Janie.

No, it's not "The Face on the Milk Carton" I've read that book before and I remember it pretty well. I'm stil trying to remember some more details but it's kind of fuzzy. But I do remember a little about the cover and on it there's a blonde girl wearing a pink sweater and a white car (I think) watching her in the background.
