Jen I'm Jennifer, a pregnant woman trying to read like crazy before my first child is born! I'm happy to be a part of this group and interact with all of you, how welcoming you are...

Hi Jennifer, I'm new too. Congratulations on the baby. How far along are you? My son is 11 1/2, so the baby thing is far, far behind me...

One suggestion: shouldn't you be sleeping, instead of reading? ;)

For me it wasn't so much the nighttime waking up, because the son started sleeping thru the night right away (takes after his father, bless his heart...) but seeing as he slept so much at night he wouldn't take naps in the daytime... AAARRGGHH!

Then when he occasionally did take a nap, giving me a nap opportunity, my mother-in-law would invariably telephone and wake me up... I swear she had a sixth sense about when I was sleeping.

Nuf about me... welcome, Hayes

Hi Jennifer, welcome to the group and get the reading (and sleeping) in while you can.. those first few years fly by and you wont really have much time for either :)

Kellie (acountkel) | 992 comments Hey Jennifer!
Welcome!
I actually started reading a lot after my 2nd child was born. Kind of backwards I guess.
When is the baby due?

Maranda (addlebrained_reader) (mannadonn) | 133 comments Hi Jennifer!

I never really sleep so I had no time finding time to read. I also read to my daughter when I was feeding her or rocking her to sleep! You can find little moments here and there...

message 8: by Jen (new)

Jen Thank you for all of your welcoming comments. I am due April Fools Day, no joke! I'm starting to understand that I will find ways to sneak some reading in, a new friend on here provided me with a nice image of a book between the baby and boppy while nursing:) And Hayes, since I am in the 2nd trimester I'm enjoying good energy, I'm in the process of buying a house so I'm thankful for that. I'm happy to have joined this group!

Maranda (addlebrained_reader) (mannadonn) | 133 comments Jennifer ~ I love your new image of the book between the boppy and the baby while nursing! My daughter is 19 months old now and since I have read to her since day one (anything from Chuck Palahniuk to J.R.R Tolkein) she absolutely loves reading now. I have to drop everything I am doing numerous times a day because she brings a book to me to read to her. It is the most amazing thing! They are so special and incredibly awesome!

Kelly | 204 comments Hi Jennifer,
Welcome to Goodreads. Congratulations on your first baby. I did the same thing when I was pregnant with my first child. I slept and I read as much as I could. Everyone told me to do that because after the baby I wouldn't get to do much of either one. LOL. Good luck to and your family. Kelly

And welcome to the group :~)

Chrystal | 144 comments Hey Jennifer! I am new as well! I am so excited about joining this group! Look forward to chatting with you.

message 17: by Jen (new)

Jen Welcome to you, Chrystal... it's *very* nice to be a part of this group. Lisa, aklthough it took a while, we did decide on a name - Evelyn Kelly. Kelly is my honey's mom's maiden name, we'll probably call her Evy. We'll be closing on a house w/in the next month, it will be nice to finally be settled and get a nursery ready. After reading Maranda's comment, have all of you passed your love of reading onto your kids?

Yes you will be too tired to read once the new one comes. I've had three and they are all grown now (or mostly so). Enjoy! They grow up way to quickly!!
