I'm currently reading Red Glove. So far, I think White Cat is better! Not much is happening..

I think Cassel is my favorite male protagonist! <3

I just finished Black Heart and it was amazing! It's my favorite in The Curse Workers trilogy. <3

Perfection *Sherlock's Girl* | 149 comments I need to read the next 2... Unfortunately[actually fortunately. They are AWESOME] I have to finish Shadow's Edge (Night Angel, #2) by Brent Weeks and Beyond the Shadows (Night Angel, #3) by Brent Weeks 1st. Also I have Heroes of the Valley by Jonathan Stroud and the entire Lover series by J. R. Ward pending. Not to forget The Lies of Locke Lamora (Gentleman Bastard, #1) by Scott Lynch series which I read 1 page of but couldn't get into. Phew.... I have a lot of catching up to do.

One of my very favorite books of all time! I'm also not sure about the movie. It may bring the book to many more people, like the Hunger Games did, or ruin the story! It's a gamble!

I also loved these books they were so refreshingly original! I can't wait for the next one especially after the big cliff hanger.

I have read Looking for Alaska. I did like it, I found it very dark though. It was a good book, but it disturbed me it was marketed for YA.

I loved Graceling and Fire! Although I don't like it that these books are anti-marriage.

❤Rose (◕‿◕✿) (black_rose) | 532 comments OMG! You HAVE to read the Lux and Covenant series by Jennifer L. Armentout!! And Megan Meade's Guide to the McGowan Boys...liked that too!

Perfection *Sherlock's Girl* | 149 comments @Rose You liked the Lux series?

I like the anti-marriage aspects because it shows that women don't need men to support them.

Beatrice (beatricemasalunga) Flipped by Wendelin Van Draanen this book is good and so as the movie.. Somehow this may happen in reality. :) A Must read.

I like the fact that the female image was portrayed as fierce and independent by Kristin Cashore. But it's like she's saying that marriage is a sign of a woman's weakness and submissiveness [which I'm clearly opposing]. Her female characters don't want to be bound to one person, especially Katsa. If she really loved Po, I think she should've married him.

I'm not sure if they were truly in love. I think Po was in love with her but she wasn't in love with him. Actually Katsa loves Po but doesn't want to feel weak. Katsa thinks her love will weaken her but it only made her stronger.

❤Rose (◕‿◕✿) (black_rose) | 532 comments It's nice.....i only discovered the difference bewteen different countries (cos all the other flights i've been on took 6-23 hrs to get back to NZ so i couldn't tell the difference by then) when we came back from Aus, and i realized the airs a lot...fresher or cleaner....anyway, it's cool....

Where do you live?? I can't remember anything!

And like you said, love makes her feel weak. It's like she doesn't want to let go of her or their freedom. She doesn't want to be bound through marriage. Anyway, I see your point. :)

Fatema (xenchanted) I recomment Shine by Lauren Myracle
It's a powerful, emotional and incredibly moving story about a girl trying to find the person behind a hate crime her friend was a victim to.

Aurora | 129 comments Life of Pi by Yann Martel

It's not really anything like teen fiction, but it's a wonderfully written, deeply thoughtout book full of thought provoking ideas and language.

I really liked The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer. It was really intriguing! Just keep in mind that it is more of a romance than paranormal/mystery.

I like books with more action than romance but there are some exceptions!

message 243: by Xdyj (new)

Xdyj The Princess Bride by William Goldman is a fun book I just finished & imo it has some of the best lines I've ever seen.

Deathless by Catherynne M. Valente is another interesting book I read recently. Nataliya on Goodreads has a nice review for it.
