Vanessa sat in the library waiting for Jayson to arrive. For an odd reason she felt nervous, and paced the floor in thought.
Jayson arrived at the royal palace, his eyes widening in surprise. "Nessie's part of the royal family..." he muttered, his stomach filling even more butterflies then before he had known that.
Vanessa sighed, "I hope he doesnt get scared and run off." she texted him, meet me in library. Sighing she sat on the desk, her dove, oreo sitting on her shoulder.
Jayson was led to the library by one of the royal's servants, he poked his head into the room. His eyes instantly were drawn to all the books, he took a sharp intake of breath at the amount there was. Jayson barely noticed Vanessa he was so taken aback by the books.
Vanessa seeing Jayson just watched him, absorbing everything. How alive he was, the excitement in his eyes, so different from her own dull eyes and stiff posture. "You like the library, yes?"
Jayson quickly looked at her, almost surprised to find her there before realizing this was where he was meeting her. "Yeah... I'm a big fan of books," he replied with a hesitant smile.
Vanessa nodded, "It is a public library. Meant for the public, no one seems to come though." she shifted, unable to keep still, uncomfortable in her own skin.
Jayson tentatively walked over to where she was sitting. "I-I'm Jayson," he said, extending his hand in hopes that he would appear like a normal person.
Vanessa stared at his hand in confusion, "Do you wish for me to give you something?" she asked, furrowing her brow in puzzlement. Staring at his hand she looked up meeting his eyes.
Jayson relaxed when he realized this girl... Nessie, was as uneducated with the whole social thing as he was. "No, I believe that people greet each other with a handshake when they first meet each other. I've read about it anyways," he explained.
Vanessa nodded and tentatively reached out, shaking his hand for a second before pulling it back to her side. "What does it mean then?" she asked curiously as Oreo moved around the room, making Vanessa somewhat jealous.
Jayson shrugged, it hadn't explained that in the books. "I think it just means we now know each other..." he guessed.
Vanessa nodded, "May I see your drawing now?" She asked curiously, looking like a kid on christmas eve. she bit her lip as of worrried though and toyed with her hands.
Jayson suddenly felt extremely nervous as he pulled his drawing out of his back pocket. What if she doesn't like it... he thought doubtfully, unfolding the paper. "It's a drawing of the cafeteria during lunch..." he explained as he handed it to her.

Vanessa took it immediately and looked at the picture in awe, the moment she touched it, it seemed she blured becoming one drawing after another before retuening to herself, "This is wonderful." she whispered, awed.(haha okay)
Jayson blushed in embarrassment. "Oh... it's not that good..." he muttered, looking down at his feet.
Vanessa shook her head, "Its perfectly chaotic and clichey and everything I dreamed." She sighed wistfully, "Thank you." She smiled kindly at him still holding the drawing.
"You're welcome," Jayson said with a small smile. He opened his mouth to say something else when all of a sudden he shrunk into a small hamster. Stupid shifting! he thought angrily, looking up at Nessie with fearful eyes.
Vanessa looked down at the Hamster and picked it up. Setting it on the desk. "A hamster? Why?" she frowned for a moment before remembering that not everyone people shifted.
Jayson squeaked in annoyance, scratching at the desk in anger.
Vanssa smirked, "You may not want to do that. The owls might hear you." she teased, laughing slightly.
Jayson stiffened, and immediately looked to the sky in fright.

Vanessa chuckled, "Im kidding. We dont let owls in the library....... At least not on wednesdays."
[Lolz. Its fine, I should had been more specific]
Jayson glared at her with his beady hamsters eyes, squeaking indignation. He suddenly felt himself growing bigger back into his human form.
Vanessa watched him become human again and smiled, "That is cool." she remarked awed with the animal transformation, used to only human shifters.
"It would be cool if I could control it... but I have no control over when I shift," Jayson sighed.
Vanessa shook her head, "It's amazing. You turn into different species. I would love to be able to do that." She sat down in a chair and sighed, thoughtful. "Is the 'high school' fun?"
Jayson considered her question for a moment. "Well... not for me. I get made fun of all the time, and I don't really have many friends. But I enjoy learning," he confessed.
Vanessa frowned, "Why do people 'make fun'?" She asked confused on the concept.
Jayson looked down at his hands, twiddling his thumbs. "Because..." he sighed, "Because I'm cursed, and I'm not cool. And I'm smarter than most people...."
Vanessa shook her head, "That's odd. Brains are considered to be highly valued in most places, are they not?" She asked still confused.
Percy walked in saw Vanessa he walked to he "Princess" he bowed his head
"I don't really understand it either... but being smart isn't cool at high school," Jayson told her, turning to look at Percy.
Percy smiled at the cute boy and blushed as he said "Hi Jayson"
Jayson looked away in embarrassment, the group of people that had always made fun of him were boys. "Hey Percy..." he muttered softly, waiting for the teasing to begin.
He smiled and looked at him "So how are you?" He asked sweetly
Vanessa smiled at her brother, "Percy, what are you doing here?" She asked curiously as Oreo flew in and cooed loudly. Vanessa paled and grabbed both boys pulling them towards the door, "We have to go now."
Jayson's eyes widened in surprise at the kind questions. Why is he being nice? he thought. "I'm fine. How're you?" he asked, tentatively taking a glance at Percy.
He smiled at Jayson and blushed like crazy "I'm good" he looked at Venessa and tried to give a look like 'im flirting leave me be'
Vanessa's eyes widened, "Percy! Mom and Dad are coming to the library. If they see us with Jayson, they'll banish him to the catacombs!" She urgently explained tugging both of them to the door.
Percy frowned and ran after Venessa "Come on Jayson"
Jayson's eyes filled with fear, and quickly followed Percy and Vanessa. Well, this is going great... he thought but couldn't suppress the excitement he felt from the whole ordeal.
