So I have three characters that need names, I can never find the perfect name. Can someone help me? I will put discriptions of the characters below. also, this story is a story that takes place in medieval times. So old fashioned names might be good
First character:
This character is a girl, she is creative, talented, kind and always follows the rules. She loves to read and she writes in a journal constantly. She has dark brown hair that is very long and kept in a braid. She has emerald green eyes that sparkle in the sunlight.

Second character:
This character is a boy, he is strong, brave and everyone thinks he is perfect. He is the guy that every girl wants to go out with. He has beach blonde hair and warm brown eyes. He is a prince.

Third character:
This character is the prince's cousin, she is mean, strict, evil and wants to rule the kingdom. She has golden blonde hair and hazel colored eyes. She was going to be the queen after the king died, but the second character will now. She wants to become queen so badly that she will do anything to become queen.

I hope you guys have some good ideas.

Guinevere Irene how are you? Happy New Year and Good Health!

And do we have a time span for the book? Important when choosing names for characters. Learning to read helps too which is what I just did sorry.

I'll put my thinking cap on!

Thanks! I just sorta sounded it out and figured with the (sp?) someone would understand. I'm good, how about you? Happy New Year to you too!

I think for the second charater, i will name him James ((thanks irene))
I am still deciding between, Elizabeth, Clarice or Casey for the first character. For the third character, i am deciding between, Valencia, Bridget, Magdaline or Gloria.

You're welcome :)

Elaine (sewnewmama) | 6 comments Super smile that you're considering two of the names I suggested. Happy Writing :)

Firestormkittycat For the first character, I think Elizabeth would fit the timeline the best, tho it is a little common. I think Casey isn't feminine enough for the time, especially with her tendency to follow rules and stuff.

Yeah, your are right about that.

I still don't know about the first.

Everly Anders I have the same problem with names. Now I keep a list on my computer and every time I hear a great name, i write it down. Then when I need a name, I know where to look.

message 15: by breanna (new)

breanna (bremanley) I think Casey is a good name for th first character!

Jp (themightyguest) | 37 comments Additionally, if you're writing a work of fantasy, it's not a bad idea to consider what region of our world would be the closest analogue to the region of the world you're writing about. You can come up with a name for there by adjusting an actual name from the analogue region, or by taking sounds and syllables from the language of the analogue region and combining them into an aurally pleasing arrangement.

Gabrielle (gabshi) 1. Madelina, Jania, RoseMary

2. James, Arthur, Liam

3. Esmeralda, Esperanza,

Sort by gender, nationality, search by meaning, and look up specific names to see if it suits your character. Seriously, everybody should bookmark this site, it's terrific.
