Margaret (margyw) | 3341 comments I'm kind of excited at the moment. My first book came out in audiobook format today. I listened to the sample on Audible. The voice artist, Steve White, has got Holmes, Watson and Lestrade down perfectly. Will now have to download the audible app so I can actually hear the entire book.

happy (happyone) | 2782 comments Our Library semi reopened today - you can put stuff on hold and pick up your hold - by appointment. Mrs Happy has gone back to work (about half of her regular schedule - still gets paid her regular hours though).

I've been reading all those books in my personal library sitting on my shelf unread - mainly history, though I just finished one of Wishart's Marcus Corvinius Mysteries -The Lydian Baker and am currently reading another one of his, Old Bones.

That's wonderful, Margaret. Congratulations! And such a great cast of characters to hear talking to one another!

Bobby (bobbej) | 1375 comments I am reading the coolest of books right now:
When We Were Vikings by Andrew David MacDonald
Not historical exactly....but entertaining, to say the least.

That sounds like a unique novel!

Terri | 19576 comments I noticed that the libraries around here are beginning their pick up. You can't go in there, but like with happy's library, it's just hold and pick up.
A good sign for all those poor readers out there who have been deprived of brain food.

Sounds great - I'm months behind you, but equally excited - having just tarted on the audiobook adventure... Good luck with it.

I think next week was when ours up here start to open for pick ups. Or maybe it was in a fortnight... *blush* I just saw it in the email subject line of their newsletter and deleted it without reading. :-}

Terri | 19576 comments Yeah, Bobby said 'welcome aboard everyone, find me on Facebook!' (obviously the wording is a rough translation) and so I found him, and he declined me!

All sorted now though. :-D

That's a great article. A fascinating read. My opinion is... Get them off the island! But preserve them, don't kill them.

Terri | 19576 comments I see that Susanna Clarke is finally releasing a new one. Coincidentally, I was actually thinking about her book Jonathan Strange & Mr Norrell a lot lately. I never read it (as its fantasy) but I often wonder if I should have read it. But lately, I have been wondering what the heck happened to her. That Jonathan Strange book/series was hugely popular.

Then today, in a bookseller newsletter, lo and behold, Susanna Clarke has a new one! I was like 'whoa' there's a coincidence for you.

Marilyn (mbk1857) | 415 comments I don't do Facebook anymore. For me, it got to be depressing. Too much rancor from some parties. I gave up Twitter, too. Same reason. :)
