I'm at work for a few hours this New Year's Eve. I hope to be off at 7 or so
I've been spending a few hours in the local used book stores spending gift cards.
I've picked up 4 WW II histories to add the growing pile of books by the bed and this one by the actress Emma Thompson.

I've been told as a toddler my absolute favorite story was "The Tale of Peter Rabbit". I had it memorized to the point that my mother could not change an "a" to a "the" or vice-a-versa. : When I saw it, I just had to have it :)

Wishing you all a terrific year filled with good health, wealth, and luck and of course, lots of great books! :)

New Year’s resolution: read more books! How about you?
I did not read enough in 2018.

Yes, I am, are they trying something new this year?

The Mobile app still works...

Me neither. 2018 was my worst reading year ever!!!
I plan on reading more NF this year.

Last year I was all enthusiastic about how many books I'd fit into the year. Fail.
A little more timid about promising more attention to my tbr pile this year.

A couple of us had noticed it a couple of days ago. But I have just see it’s back up and running. You could still do it on the phone version.

With NF I'd suggest picking a "project", its really helped me stick with more NF & learn about stuff :)

I'm still learning how to navigate this site. I didn't know you could see a page count on your home page. When you say home page, do you mean your Profile page? If so how/where do I see a page count?
Sorry to be such a novice about this.

On the bar, if you click "home" that's the pg we're referring too. On that pg you'll see "currently reading" where mine (for instance) shows War of the Wolf pg 91/352 - its this pg count that we're referring too, in that for a few days it disappeared. :) Hope that helps

Thanks, Andy.
My home page shows the number of books I've read toward my challenge. It doesn't show the number of pages, though. I think that is probably because I never bother to put anything down for "currently reading." I guess if I need to know the number of pages I'm reading, I should start putting that down.
Thanks for your help.

Thanks, Andy! You were the biggest inspiration with reading the series you’ve been reading :)

I got to my project after watching this video.....

and thinking.... How the ?? lols

Had my volume up higher than I thought and the first time the music really gets going scared the sh*t outta me 😄

For anyone interested - Otis is doing well. He had his stiches out last Thursday. There is some significant scaring, esp on the left side. Never the less he still is an avid and enthusiastic walking partner :)

I haven't heard anything about author changes, but then I am not really up to date with any new author rules.

I'm going to have to recheck my notification settings in case something is awry.

I'm goi..."
Works fine for me, sometimes its jus a matter of logging out n logging back in again if you always stay logged on :)

Bit weird. Might have been a GR glitch for a week. Goodness, it has happened enough over the years where some people have notification issues and others don't and everyone gets confused. lol Just gremlins. :-D
( I never stay logged in.)

Unfortunately because I am the Mod when things go wrong with me or I get too busy with off-internet stuff, I have to explain why I am missing.
Which, of course, makes it sound like I always have drama.
The thing is, that when you are just a member of a group and not a mod, you have that luxury of cruising in and out of your groups. Maybe posting once a month maybe. You don't feel like you have to explain why you are not around for a month.
I wish I could do that! :-D
But I am a mod, so I have to explain every time something takes me away from visits here.
This time it was a sore back where i could only lay down or lean back in a recliner. No sitting up straight.
I did something to it while doing farmwork. Back to normal this week, only now my husband is home on three weeks holidays from work and we are either in the paddock doing things on the farm, or hanging out together. So my visits to A&M will be sporadic for another couple of weeks while I try to stay off the computer and hang out with the hubby.
Hope you have all been well!!

I'm really putting him to work around the place. He probably can't wait for his holidays to be over.

I just love early Spring - 70 degrees (tues) and sunny one day and 6 inches of snow on the lawn 2 days later (thurs) :)
Most of the snow has melted.

I have work being published in two essay anthologies due out later this year. I have also completed my first novel and it has been submitted to a publisher for consideration.
Some of you may have noticed that my profile page has been changed to an author page. I figured that with work in one anthology, and another two definites to be added later, that it was time to make the leap to author on here.
However, I'm still moding this group with Terri and still only really on here as a dedicated reader of historical fiction. :)
