I am A Witch Doctor:When you were young (back in the year 1457) you enjoyed rebel acts and some mysteries until you've found the dark and bewitching art of witchcraft. Now, you use your special set of skills to help and heal other people around you. Thank you, Doc
Hmmmm...
The recommendations on here puzzle the heck out of me.Because I am reading Amgalant Two: Tribal Brawls by our lovely Bryn Hammond, GR suggested The Witching Hour by Anne Rice as being similar!!!
I go there to add or update books. It's awfully complicated [to me] for the rest of it. The recommendations are the chief draw. They seem much closer to whatever book you've called up; some of GR's are so odd.
RAIN!Drought breaking rain!
It doesn't mean that our cattle will have grass to eat. the drought was tough on our farm and killed maybe 70% of the grass. But at least with the rain arriving it will help the last of the grass to survive.
I never thought I would see proper rain again. It was getting very, very grim.

Being a member of GR is plenty for me. It would take too much time out of my day to be involved in another big site. :)

Awesome Terri! So glad you're getting some rain. That is great news to hear. :) Been thinking about you & the farm a lot. I hope the precip is enough to make a difference.

Great to hear Terri. Are you bringing your herd home soon?
Hi Bobby,No, no grass here. Grass died during the drought. We need our cattle to stay on the lease property for as long as we can so that what grass survived the drought, has a chance to spread and grow here on the farm.
Oh great news Terri. Unreal banana peel!!! Allie good on you for taking one for the team, lol. Now get your clothes on girl. Derek good to you you dropping in here, :))))

Take heed, Noah is at the movies this week and Russell Crowe is from that part of the world.

Erg. Russell Crowe. Many people already know how much I dislike him, so I won't expound on my 'erg'. :)

What did he do now? I want an expounding!

You all may want to sit down for this news...It is now flooding in my area. Yes. Flooding. IN a matter of days we have gone from one of the worst droughts in living record, to a flood.
Not long ago my cattle were dying because of the drought. Now I had to make a mad rush over to the lease property yesterday morning to get my cattle to high ground so they were not washed away in flood last night and this morning.
Honestly. You've got to laugh don't you?? :D

I just can't stand him. Think he is a first rate d##khead and couldn't act his way out of paper bag. :]
P.S yay. Derek in da house.
That's crazy, Terri. Droughts, floods....crazy ole Mother Nature. :)
I give up. I don't know what is next...actually I do. they have now forecast severe thunderstorms for later today with possible gale force winds...of course..
They are. It's the worst kind of babysitting job imaginable!!I still worry that they wandered back down to low ground last night and floated off in the swollen river...won't know until the roads are open again.
If only they were smarter I would be a lot more confident. But cows can be pretty stupid sometimes.
Terri wrote: "I don't want to start any rumours about cows, but I really feel it is true. :]"It's true. My dad was a drover for many years. He reckoned the only animal dumber than cattle was sheep. :p
Oh, so I don't confuse our American and Canadian friends, "drover" is the word used in Australia and New Zealand for "cowboy".
Would it be cowboy? A drover only droves cattle in Oz. They aren't the Musterers, Jackaroos or the hands. In Australia you only call the Drovers up when you need to move cattle long distances from one property to another. Sometimes thousands of kilometres.
Is it different in NZ? Do you call Musterers, Hands and Jackaroos a drover?

Drover was used in NZ too. Dad was a drover. Long distance tranfers. General mustering work tended to be done by general farm hands. There were never farms the size of Aussie stations in New Zealand.
Dad drove cattle from one end of New Zealand to the other. He reckoned getting cattle on the boats was a real bugger.
He was also a breaker. My dad had a wonderfully interesting life before he met my mum.
I don't think it's just cows that wander and cause shenanigans. Once, when I was a tiny child staying with my grandparents, one of the horses got out. A van carrying beauty pageant contestants hit the horse as it was crossing the road. This was back in the day when nobody had cell phones so one of the girls (dressed in their evening wear of course) came knocking on my grandparents' door. After she explained what happen, her and my grandpa walked back to where the accident had happened. My grandpa to this day cannot make it straight faced through this story. When he got back to the scene of the accident three girls all dressed in their evening gowns stood in the middle of the road directing traffic around the dead horse. The sheriff's deputy came out and relieved the horse of its suffering. We buried the horse at the end of the drive way because at one in the morning my grandpa didn't feel like trudging out to the pasture and digging a hole.

Definition: You were born to rule! You may be a bit spoiled at times, but your parents raised you well. You know how and where to help people, lead them and guide them at harsh times. Leadership is in your (blue) blood and compassion is in your heart.
Looks like I was born to be a head moderator. :D
