Yes I'll join. I chose 100 books as my challenge this year but as we are only 3 weeks in and I just finished my first book pages would be good. Most of the books I have been reading in the last year or so are large tomes so 100 books may be unattainable.
To be consistent with my other challenges, I should end up around 40,000 pages. I read about 34,000 or 35,000 last year (my total on Goodreads is off because I didn't join until March and because I started several books that I didn't finish). My goal for this year doesn't seem too unrealistic, but you never know when life will get in the way.
I hear you, my best reading time is early weekend mornings. However somedays my 5 year old decides to cut into it. Evenings seem to be so hectic with suppers to cook, homework to do(he is learning to read now!!!) and the next day to get ready for. Reading time seems to be a few pages before my eyes lose focus and the alarm goes off at 5:30.
Cool. I have no idea how many pages I read in a week let alone a year so I really don't know how much to "pledge". Just going to start counting and see what I end up with.
Since the first I have been keeping a reading diary and writing how much I read on that day.
At the end of the month I will total it up and post it in my #2 post. By using the edit option.
Feel free to use whatever option you'd like to.
Last year, I read 20,831 pages I'm hoping to double that this year. This means I should be reading about 3500 pages per month. Not looking good so far though haha.January: 1432 pages

total so far this year 8488 pages read- 14 books read 86 to go to meet my challenge of 100 ooohhh so daunting.
Somehow I've read 51 books but only around 17,000 pages. My average number of pages per book is normally much higher than that.

I'm not real convinced that it's accurate. I count them myself and you have to watch which edition of the book you choose because hardbacks, paperbacks and ereaders have different amounts.

Well Dave it looks like you are ahead of schedule.

Yep about 3 books ahead at the moment. I've been reading a few short books recently (mostly Sherlock Holmes and dr who novels) which have helped get the numbers if not the pages up quick.

I have been using the one on Goodreads, but I do try to make sure I selected an edition with the right number of pages. I'll have to take a look that I didn't miss any. I've been reading several very long books this year, so I've also been reading some more "fluff" to give myself breaks. That might be why the total looks weird. My total is going to jump dramatically when I finish some of the books I'm working on right now: A Game of Thrones, Jonathan Strange & Mr Norrell, Autobiography, Vol 1, The Origin of Species, and Anna Karenina (obviously I have eclectic taste).

Derrick, when I read an ebook I choose the hardback edition. It's stupid that the ebook aren't page numbered because they obviously have pages they are just electronic.
I'm a slow reader, esp when reading good books. So far this year:44 books
13,872 pages
Not counting books that are eBooks only. I don't read many of these. One cannot give them page numbers, but could use their size in words or kilobytes.
