How many things did they mess up or ruin in the movie.
Well since the movie was so horrible I can't remember too much of it. But in the movie I don't remember the character Clarisse in it who was like Percy's rival and in the beginning of the movie I don't remember Zeus and Poseidon meeting on the roof of a building talking about Percy that didn't happen in the book.
My biggest thing was that Annabeth in the movie wasn't blonde. That bothered me to no end....
1.Clarisse wasn't in the movie 2.Ares wasn't in the movie
3.They never Iris-messaged Luke in the Movie
4.Luke didn't try to kill Percy with a scorpion in the movie
5.They didn't go to Denver in the movie
6.and Percy never fought Echidna in the St.Lois Arch in the movie
7. Percy never was in the Hermes cabin in the movie
8.They were to old9. Never got a quest, they just left.
10. The main antagonist (kronos) wasn't in the movie.
11. No game of captured the flag.
12. Annabeth wasn't blonde
13. Grover stayed in the movie, when in the book, he left his mom behind.
14. His mom never used the Medusa head to get rid of Gabe.
15. Annabeth and Percys relationship bloomed to early.
16. They never mentioned the great prophecy.
17. Dioynus wasn't in the movie.
I can't begin to explain how many things the movie messed up. Annabeth was wrong in so many ways. Grover was a girl magnet, and Luke used computers... Kronos and Dionysus weren't included in the movie, either?!
In the book, the use of technology wasn't supposed to be allowed, that is one reason why they had Iris Messaging-not Skype.
The whole movie was so wrong. :-( I thought the movie would be good to see without reading the book or as a seperate series.
Here's the list of what they messed up on:1) they r supposed to b 12 year olds
2) Annabeth is supposed to have blond hair
3) percy doesn't yet know that he's the son of poseidon until capture the flag was won
3) nothing about searching for the pearls
4) Percy needs to battle ares
5) demigods and mortals or anyone's eyes r supposed to b blinded when the gods change to there true form( like hades did)
6) Percy didn't go to the watermattress store
7) they didn't show Percy jumping off the arch
8) they didn't put clarisse in the movie
9) they didn't go to the oracle
10) Chiron is supposed to be a stallion
11) the use of technology was forbidden
12) where was mr. D?!!!
13) they didn't show Percy fightning enchida or however u spell it
14) medusa lured percy and his friend to her store not Percy and his friends went into the store
And so many more but I'm not going to list them all since it'll take a really long time
truth be told. the movie was so bad because there was so much cut out so obviously that I didn't even finish it half way.
I only just realized, but they don't have the camp t-shirts.
The thing that bothered me the most was Ares not being in the movie! He was SUPER important in the book.
I think the biggest character they left out was KRONOS. The MAIN antagonist.

I think the annabeth in the movie had a weird stare (and not blonde hair). One of the first things she said was,"I definitely have strong feelings for you." ????WHAT??? No, you really don't, Annabeth, not yet.
IKR! It was all messed up they totally left out characters and what's up with them already knowing who percys father was and the guest was all wrong! But the biggest thing that bothered me was that Chrion was suppose to a white stallion NOT a brown one!!
I actually enjoyed the movie but the book was much better. It seemed as if they were cutting corners in the movie. Even camp halfblood wasn't what I had in mind after reading the book.

They actually did play capture the flag and Percy's mom did use the Medusa head, it was just after the credits that they showed that.
I made an entire list (and I forgot things) and it was about four pages in size eleven font...They ruined too much to list it all.
When I said that they didnt have the Capture the flag game...I meant that they didn't have the way it was in the book.
They missed the whole bus scene!! :/

When I was watching the movie, I was thinking "They messed up the simplest things" I mean, Chiron wasn't even white! That seems something very simple they could've done.
I'm so glad I'm not the only one who felt the movie was disappointing....I agree with all points mentioned here, Annabel's hair bugged me too :) I never considered that Percy and Annabel were too old for the parts even though they are both good actors.I walked out of the theater early and got my money back by the time they reached Medusa's place. The bus scene was a big one too.
too many to count. I didn't even finish it... it was way too disapointing.
Lets just say the whole thing was messed up. The story was completley cahnged

Pretty much everything that took out all the good stuff and twisted the story it was terrible
I was yelling at the tv so much that my sister told me to shut up. I'm being picky, but Annabeth had blue eyes when she is a daughter of the grey-eyed goddess. They added wwaaayyy too much stuff and left out a lot too.
Truly did Anyone read that book before they started filming like REALLY!!!!

WOW. Everyone is so fed up with kronos not being in the movie. COME ON PEOPLE!!!!! Kronos wasnt even PART of the first couple books. WOW.JUST.WOW

I mean who dose that??????"Rick Riordan sold the book rights to the movie company, so techinally, they can do whatever they want. But the movie sucked, and flushed the whole series down the drain. It is an amazing book and the movie portrayed it badly.

4)Never got onto the St.Lewis arch
5)The bolt was in a backpack NOT a sheild
6)Grover is more nervous, not bold
7)all the cabins are just wrong, not how I imagined them, or described as in the book
8)the book did not start with him in a swimming pool
9)They never knew he was Posidian's son till he was claimed at capture the flag
10)no bathroom sene

GOD READ THE BOOKS YOU IDIOTS, OH HOW I WISH RICK HAD A SAY. I HATE THE PEOPLE WHO MADE THAT MOVIE!!!!!!:(

Oh I forgot to add THERE IS A POSSIBILTY THAT ANNABETH ISNT EVEN GOING TO BE IN THE SEA OF MONSTER. If so i will kill the director and producers of the movie. HOW IN THIS UNIVERSE ARE THEY GOING TO BRING LUKE BACK TO LIFE TOO I MEAN CMON.
