Katniss being locked up for most of that, I think we can be free to think :)
In a panic, with Coin dead, they voted Paylor in and held Katniss's trial. That's all we know for sure.
I also think they got themselves into some sort of order, and that they appointed other members of the government. They probably also created a cabinet for the president. Also, they would balance out Paylor's power...just in case.
Is it weird if I write from Paylor's PoV a lot?

Yes. They would be the worst kind of hypocrites.

Yeah. I dont understand. I just think they should get a fair trial. And be like garbage men cleaning up dead bodies or something like that. Hahaha my evil sentence... :/
In my opinion, having THG for anyone is wrong. Why make other people, no matter what they've done go through this? We all know what the games does to people. How horrible they are. Why make ANYONE go into there?
Exactly why I was surprised Katniss chose yes. I was apalled. She's seen what it's done to her and everyone else why make it happen to someone else. The children of the gov officials did nothing at all. They shouldn't be punished for what their relatives did.
Exactly! I still think it was to gain Coin's trust though..I can't really think of any other feasible reason, besides revenge, for why she said yes.
I think it was an absolutely lame excuse. I wouldn't do it even if I was trying to gain trust. I wouldn't even do it saying: For (my dead sister whom I loved dearly)
My sister died so I'm gonna make a bunch of innocent kids die to 'avenge' her death? Where's the logic?

I thought that the "for prim" pointed in the direction of it being a ploy to keep what little trust coin had in her...b/c at that time, katniss blamed coin for prim's death, not the capitol. and haymitch didn't really vote yes, he just said he was with the mockingjay.
BUT- if she did truly mean yes, I'd rather see it as her just bowing to the inevitable- thinking that her vote didn't matter (but, I don't know...even if it's a throw-away vote, I'd still vote "no!")...and that doesn't explain haymitch's vote...so I don't know!! I wish SC had explained this better :(
Maybe she decided she was through witj all this and to get it all over with and kill coin and that would make coin trust her (not the her killimg coim part but the other part).

on the one hand- coin had already agreed to let katniss be the one to execute snow, so that was a given...
on the other hand- maybe if coin had distrusted katniss even more (b/c she had gone against coin's wishes in the hunger games vote), she would have been sure she wasn't w/in katniss' line of fire during the execution...
Yeah. If I were Katniss (please do not kill me at what I say next) then I would vote yes to make sure that Coin didn't think anything was up. She wanted me to be nice and confuzzled, so I would act nice and confuzzled.
Under normal circumstances, there is no way in the WORLD I would vote yes. Unless it was the government officials going in.

Hmm i think they would just have to see the families reactions when their child was killed... that would really upaet me cause it wasnt just the kids whose lives they ruined
That's why I say Coin should have put those idiot adult government officials in instead.

I wasnt suprised with peeta's and katniss's answers. i would have said the same.
Also....
I read the book a few times but i still dont get the prim dying part. I mean, how did she get there? if she was a soldier, how did she become one? And the part that her shirt was stticking out like a duck tail... *confused*
Prim would have wanted to be on the front line healing people, so Coin permitted her to be a medic in order to unhinge Katniss when she died.
The ducktail was a reference to chapter of the first book.

The duck tail was kind of referring to Katniss still viewing Prim as a little kid back in the first book, even though Prim had grown up a lot after Katniss went through the Hunger games twice.
i totally agree with you about the elders part, having their elders go in would have been a better idea, but wouldnt that defeat the purpose of what they just accomplished? I think it would show a really bad side of the newfound government. What do you think happened to Panem and the districts after the capital and Snow were killed?
