So....the year started with a bang and I have millions of books to read. My first read of the year and I loved it!!!!!! Awesome book!!!! So this book is about this girl who's in love with a guy called Alex...the story starts when Alex dumps our protagonist. She's heartbroken as her world revolved around him. Which is when a couple of girls contact her and ask her to join a secret society called the Secret Sisterhood Of Heart breakers. they ask her to break a guy's heart within seven days of her own heartbreak and bring them his tears. They'll use those tears to make her heart unbreakable and in the process she'll get to learn some cool magic. At first suspicious, she plans to go along with what they say so that she can use the magic to get back her Ex(who I might add is a pathetic loser)....unfortunately she ends up finding out that the alleged caring boyfriend doesn't even like her and in the process breaks her best friend's heart!!! A light, fun read.... recommended for anyone who likes strong female characters...and MAGIC!!!!

Just finished this one and its pretty good. The story is about a bringer(someone who takes souls to heaven), Lucyna. Bringers are supposed to be creatures without emotions..they can't feel...so when this one, Lucyna gets assigned to pick up a soul called Max...she's surprised to see that the sight of Max's son, James ignites feelings within her. Max starts begging her to check i on his son now and then and she couldn't refuse. Curious about this sudden emergence of emotions, Lucyna spends almost every moment with James. But when she gets a message about Jame's death, she can not stop herself and saves his life by miraculously turning into a human..well not exactly human as she doesn't need to breathe, eat or sleep!!! James falls in love with her when suddenly her Bringer best friend Arlo appears and tells her.....okay am I being a spoil sport by recounting the whole tale. Well then I won't say anymore...this is one hell of a book...there are more twists and turns than you could probably imagine. I kept thinking its over now and suddenly some new earth shattering fact would be revealed...there's just one thing this wasn't YA and it still gave the vibes of one. Apart from that excellent read!!!
I am not a great fan of mystic/other worldly books, but you've made this so interesting that I cant resist adding it to my to-read pile.

Finished the entire soul screamers series. Nice books....better than twilight definitely but i'm sure twilight lovers will like these. Waiting for the next book in the series now....

Just finished and man, what a book!! Totally loved it....a tearjerker for sure. The story revolves around a doctor, David Henry, who was forced to deliver his own children, Paul and Phoebe. Phoebe was born with Down's syndrome so the doctor gives her to the nurse Caroline, to take her to a home for the retarded and tells his wife that she was born dead. A very poignant story, exploring the lives of David, his wife and his son, which falls apart due to this one act and Caroline Gill who raises Phoebe on her own and Phoebe herself who inspite of everything has grown up to be her own person. These two parallel narration, so closely entwined and yet totally in contrast to each other weave a mesmerising story of love, guilt, secrets, hope and survival.
