Madeleine | 1065 comments I know right? Not as awesome as cannoli though. I would kill for one of those right now.

message 11152: by Jasmine (new)

Jasmine (jazzyjams) | 1616 comments Cannolis are delicious!!! Now you're making me hungry...

message 11153: by Madeleine (new)

Madeleine | 1065 comments And I'm worse off. I need Italian food now. *looks wistfully at Italian place down the street*

I'm craving tortellini. And garlic bread. And calamari. And bruschetta.

Madeleine | 1065 comments Italian feasts are always amazing

Madeleine | 1065 comments Other girls stay up late online shopping for cute clothes.

I stay up late shopping for deals on ebooks.

Madeleine | 1065 comments Holy Shikes Shab. Don't you have a car?

O.o

Also, I delight in my time zone. Apparently, what counts as late for you, isn't so late for me.

And why did you have to bike yourself to your own bday party? Isn't there a kind and loving friend of yours who is willing to take you there and back?

Also: Naps?

Also: clubbing?

Also: Was there cake at said bday party? I bet there was. I bet it was good too. :(

Also: mental math has you getting home around...5:45, assuming you don't stop and chat and assuming you already had your party and as I'm writing this it's a little after 2.

Sleep, Shab. It's a wonderful thing.

Shab! I'm so happy! I finally got my hands on some Cannoli! :D :D :D

Jasmine (jazzyjams) | 1616 comments Hey Kierra!
@ Madeleine: Congrats on getting your canolli! XD I wish I had some...
@ Shab: I feel tired reading about this...

message 11161: by Madeleine (new)

Madeleine | 1065 comments You're a good person, Shab. An outstanding example of one.

Also: Holland? I didn't know that. Sounds fun. How's the weather?

Also: Never seen adventure time. What's a Finn Cake?

Also: Why would Scott delete you if you're obviously such an AWESOME person?

Find yourself at very least a halfway decent Italian place or bakery. They should have some.

message 11173: by Madeleine (new)

Madeleine | 1065 comments *bows* Awesome people hang out with other awesome people. Therefore, because I am amazing, you must be amazing, and because you are amazing, I must be amazing. It's a never ending circle of fantastic.

Adventure time--is it on Netflix?

Somehow, we're in the middle of summer but it's still a bit chilly. One-up from last year where heat exhaustion arrived 5 seconds after stepping out the door.

message 11174: by Jasmine (new)

Jasmine (jazzyjams) | 1616 comments O.o well Netflix is this wonderful thing that you can subscribe for and it gives you access to a pile of shows and movies...
@Madeleine: if you have American Netflix it's on it...

message 11175: by Madeleine (new)

Madeleine | 1065 comments Okeydokey! I'll look it up then.

NOOOOOOOO!!!!! *hits head with computer* why, why, why??

So Figment had a fanfiction contest going, but the limit it 750 words. Who writes a story that's 750 words? That's like...less than 1 chapter! That doesn't even count as a short story!

message 11176: by Madeleine (new)

Madeleine | 1065 comments Okay, so in response to my rant about the 750 word limit, my mother just reminded me that the Nobel prize winner, Ernest Hemingway, was said to have once written a short story in only six words:

"For sale: Baby shoes, never worn."

The gauntlet has been thrown down.

message 11177: by Madeleine (new)

Madeleine | 1065 comments Might have a solution...digging through some old, handwritten fanfics I have. This may work out yet.

message 11178: by Jasmine (new)

Jasmine (jazzyjams) | 1616 comments Luck to you! I wish all I had was an annoying word limit.... I decided that summer school was a good idea -.-

Summer school *cringe* I'm all over learning, but even that gives me shudders.

message 11180: by Madeleine (last edited Jul 03, 2013 05:55PM) (new)

Madeleine | 1065 comments Giving up on fanfiction. No way in hell do I stand a chance.

Seriously. Just read some of the entries. http://figment.com/contest/FanFicCont...

Jasmine (jazzyjams) | 1616 comments yeah summer school... I didn't fail or anything, it's this thing my school does that lets you do a school course during the summer (it's only a few weeks...) but it sucks...

I might have to do that eventually. I'm getting out of it this year by taking a zero hour P.E. class.

Jasmine (jazzyjams) | 1616 comments oops.... I guess I already posted that comment...
And I know how you feel Madeleine... every time I want to enter some writing contest, I see some of the other entries and my brain wimps out...

message 11185: by Madeleine (new)

Madeleine | 1065 comments It's more than that...ever since I was a kid, I have this unstoppable need to write really, really, long works. Short stories just never turn out right...I like the kinds of ideas that seem to go on for infinite.

It's like, how do I explain this?

It's like being given the choice between using 36 colored pencils or 12. Some people are really good at using 12, me? I need the full 36 to make something that really seems to shine.

At least, that's my opinion anyways.

Even my descriptive sketches for when I'm creating a setting, or filling out a whole character sketch, are mega long. That's what makes it seem real to me I guess.

message 11186: by Madeleine (last edited Jul 03, 2013 09:14PM) (new)

Madeleine | 1065 comments You know what's really eerie? When you mark a book to-read, but no one has pre-reviewed it with what they hope will happen, or how sad they are that it's not coming out sooner. It's like a room full of people being perfectly silent. It gives me the heebie-jeebies *shiver*

Like on some of the old books on this site? The ones that have 0.00 as their rating? That's just creepy.

message 11188: by Madeleine (new)

Madeleine | 1065 comments That's creeper too, because you know that someone who cared put it up there...but who doesn't rate it?

message 11189: by Madeleine (new)

Madeleine | 1065 comments If I was a sympathetic crier, or just a crying person in general, I'd cry at that brief description. :(

What book is it?

Also: I'm going on a mission trip tomorrow so I won't be around for about a week. Don't let things get to far out of hand!

message 11190: by Tasha (new)

Tasha (detergirl) :D Looks like its going to rain. I love the smell of rain.

message 11191: by Jasmine (new)

Jasmine (jazzyjams) | 1616 comments Rain is... okay? I like it, but when there are quick flash storms, I hate it... like today I was walking home with a friend, and after 3 minute it started pouring out of nowhere freakishly heavy... we both got drenched..

message 11192: by Madeleine (new)

Madeleine | 1065 comments Getting drenched in rain is always fun. We're in the middle of all the summer storms right now and my favorite thing to do is go outside with an umbrella and stand in it. Or dance without one. Either option is always fun.

message 11193: by Jasmine (new)

Jasmine (jazzyjams) | 1616 comments I agree that it's fun to get drenched, but not when you are walking through a woodland path to get somewhere -.- my feet still hurt from trying to not fall over...

What I hate most is when you know a book exists, but it's really obscure and not on Goodreads. 0_0

The Mortal Instruments, Divergent, Vampire Academy etc ...

message 11198: by Jasmine (new)

Jasmine (jazzyjams) | 1616 comments you get a limo??? no fair -.-

(Vampire Academy is getting a movie????? as for all the YA book movies, I think they're trying to find the next Harry Potter/Twilight/Hunger Games)

I'm so excited for the movie! If you've seen beautiful creatures, the actress for Rose is also in Beautiful C(she's the mean character)

message 11200: by Pierrette (new)

Pierrette | 104 comments Kierra: Haven't seen Beautiful Creatures but I know which one your talking about. Are the books of Vamp Academy worth reading? I remember friends reading and recommending them around the time of Twilight but I never really got on to the bandwagon.
