It celebrates nothing. Its just right after thanksgiving the christmas season starts. So stores slash all their prices for a weekend and people always fight to get good deals for the holiday season

Sometimes it is a smart idea because you do save money but I think it depends on what you get. Like if there is something you've been wanting and you wait until that day to get it for a cheaper price, then that's pretty smart.

Because I know there are people who refer to the Good Friday of Easter as Black Friday. I got so confused. Why did it suddenly happen on November? and the sales? whut. lol From the sound of it though, if I was there, I would go the sales with a camcorder and video tape the craziness that ensues. It would certainly make for one hilarious vid.
