We're losing all of our amazon data in the couple weeks. I like that idea, we can see about working that in.
Will the amazon data be retroactively removed? Or can you keep what is already there and "just" lose the updates for new data?
We're gonna be deleting anything we can't find an alternate source for. More details are available in the librarians group.
I couldnt see anything in the librarians groups about losing Amazon data...can someone post a link? Did they just change their API terms?
Oh hmm, i thoguht they said they were posting something. They didn't really change the terms, i think a higher level Goodreads and Amazon aren't close enough friends for that anymore. We're doing stuff they don't like, they're doing stuff we don't like. They don't own us, etc.
I think the Amazon API is great, and as a small company it's very valuable, but we're not as tiny as we once were.
This seems to be the only applicable Librarian thread, so far:http://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/7...

I can understand the limitation, but it would be nice to know if a field is empty because of an Amazon limitation or if it is truly just missing.
Any chance of putting some kind of message/flag saying something like "Amazon Restricted"? With an indicator like that, my site would know to switch over to the Amazon API for that information to fill in the blanks rather than have to guess.
Thanks.
