SYNOPSIS:
Texan Jemmy Martin wants nothing to do with the Civil War that is tearing apart the United States. He never wants to see New Mexico, the barren land that destroyed his father's happiness. But when his brother sells the family's mules to the Confederate Army, Jemmy feels forced to go with them to protect them and bring them home.

New Mexican Raul Atencio hates both the Texicans and Americanos, whose presence threatens the culture of his people. He wishes all foreigners would leave the desolate but beautiful land that his ancestors conquered centuries ago.

Although neither wants to fight, Jemmy and Raul meet face to face over the barrel of a shotgun when they become embroiled in a battle that could change the destiny of two nations.

SHARON DELGADO | 4 comments Love in a Time of Climate Change Honoring Creation, Establishing Justice by Sharon Delgado Love in a Time of Climate Change: Honoring Creation, Establishing Justice

I would like to find people willing to review my upcoming book, which will be released in July. It's a progressive Christian approach to climate change. This book is not easy reading, but I believe it includes good analysis and insights. It links personal faith with social and environmental concerns, and points in the direction of climate justice. Here's a blurb about it:

Love in a Time of Climate Change challenges readers to develop a faithful response to climate change, which disproportionately harms the poor, threatens future generations, and damages God’s creation. This book creatively adapts John Wesley’s theological method by using scripture, tradition, reason, and experience to explore the themes of creation and justice in the context of climate change. Its premise is that love of God and neighbor requires us to honor creation and establish justice for our human family, for future generations, and for all creation.

Thanks for considering this request.

Guillermo Arbe (guillermoarbe) | 1 comments Ithaca, a Novel by Guillermo Arbe
Ithaca, a Novel
I would love to receive reviews for my book entitled Ithaca, A Novel. The setting of the book Ithaca: A Novel is college life in a tightly knit community in Ithaca, New York. The story is about power and free will and friendship. A young man far from home, searching for the meaning of life traveling through adolescence into young adulthood. One reviewer wrote: “At times, you may forget that the characters are fictional as you feel that you have known so many of them on your own journey through life. At the end, it leaves you yearning for more, and wondering what became of the protagonist after he reached maturity. It is a great read, reminding us of what it is like to go through the travails of leaving home and venturing into a new and strange world”. The book is also in homage to Vladimir Nabokov, and his love for English. From Nabokov I learned that looking at a language from the vantage point of another language can bring forth it’s best and most singular attributes.
Thanks!

Jenni Regan | 2 comments Hello,
I would love some reviews for my new novel The Girl Who Just Wanted to have Fun. Which is a contemporary fiction novel with a big twist!
Currently available on Amazon for free or you can access through NetGalley
https://s2.netgalley.com/widget/redee...
Three stories. Three women. Three very different lives.
Liz is a career woman who is desperately trying to break through the glass ceiling in the world of finance, Betsy is the motherly figure with more than enough on her plate, while Ellie is a wild party girl, hooked on having a good time.
As the lives of the three become increasingly interwoven, the sudden financial crisis creates a different set of problems for each one, as they battle to maintain their individual lifestyles.
And as it deepens they find that the pressure of life becomes almost unbearable, as Liz loses her job, Betsy’s mother dies and Ellie is assaulted while out one night.
As lives begin to unravel, Liz suffers a crisis as her increasingly bizarre behaviour spirals out of control and she suddenly finds herself shunned by the people she knows.
Rescued by friends, life begins to look a little brighter and there is yet one last surprise for her. The question is, will Liz be able to regain control, or is it already too late for her?

T.N. Traynor Hi Jenni
I have downloaded your book from Amazon.co.uk just now.
Hoping the twist isn't that the Liz, Ellie & Betsy are the same woman who suffers from schizophrenia! ;)
I have two books to read before yours so will be about 3/4 weeks before I leave a review.
If you want to stay in touch my email is traynor.tracy@yahoo.co.uk.
Look forward to reading it.
ps how did you get on Netgalley?
best wishes
Tracy

Groovy Lee I have two books I would welcome reviews for. Colors In The Dark is a Kindle Romantic/Suspense; and A Body Resurrected is a Kindle Thriller/Romance.

You can contact me at atreyhu3333@att.net if one of them interests you. Thank-you!

Colors In The Dark by Groovy Lee

BLURB:
Hailey Campbell was raised by her adoptive mother in a home filled with unconditional love and foster children. Her biological mother, a heroin addict, couldn’t keep her; her father, a right-wing conservative keeps her existence a secret. And yet, in her day to day struggles of trying to deal with this kooky puzzle called her life, the idea of true love will never hold any priority. Is there really such a thing as the, quote, “man of your dreams”, your, “soul mate”? If her only comparison are the Neanderthals she seems to attract, that middle-of-the-puzzle piece will forever sit waiting for a match.

She attends an important gala, surrounded by expensive tuxedos and glittering gowns; and with a prideful lift of the chin, is contented with sampling the high-end cuisine and expensive wine—alone. A man? Why bother? Love? Who needs it? No sooner do those pitiable questions cross her mind, when her answer appears from the midst of all those international dignitaries in the form of the most beautiful man named Manley. And despite the secrets he’s hesitant to reveal about himself, the meaning of love was finally made clear that night.

But there’s a challenge waiting for Hailey in Sweet Tea, Mississippi; population 700. That’s not counting the Ransom militia compound at the edge of town. And if she doesn’t get there in time to save eighteen month-old Abbie from one of its members, Sheriff Carl, Hailey will lose her behind those thick walls protected by the First Amendment and never see her again.

A Body Resurrected by Groovy Lee

BLURB:
Sixteen year-old Mira is an Egyptian girl who lives a quiet life in her small village in Lower Egypt 3303 B.C.E. But two visitors from the planet Aut are about to change that. The first “flying metal” that whips across the sky carries a murderous plague by the name of Demen. The second one that follows, brings a bounty-hunter named Weir. Against her father’s wishes, Mira becomes Weir’s accomplice in his mission to apprehend Demen before another woman dies by his hands.

But there’s a problem: Demen is now a powerful Pharaoh in the city of Sharkura. Will apprehending him cost Weir and Mira their lives?

Almay, California, USA, twenty-first century:

Tina Leggs oversees the artifacts and exhibits of the Graham-Arlee museum. She has no idea that the mummy exhibit that’s drawing huge crowds, is the same Demen that her ancestor, Mira, bravely faced centuries ago.

Demen is no longer a powerful Pharaoh. Now, he’s nothing more than a museum exhibit since he was discovered in the Valley of the Kings. But a rare occurrence will give him life once more. And his desire to kill the misery known as woman is as strong as ever.

Enter Q, a second bounty-hunter sent from Aut to capture him. Like Mira, Tina has been cast into the role of ally to this handsome visitor. Amid the destruction Demen is causing, and the risk to their lives to stop him, a bond of love has developed between them.

But, will she leave her family on Earth for the sake of that love?

Love in a Time of Climate Change: Honoring Creation, Establishing Justice
Love in a Time of Climate Change Honoring Creation, Establishing Justice by Sharon E. Delgado

Love in a Time of Climate Change challenges readers to develop a faithful response to climate change, which disproportionately harms the poor, threatens future generations, and damages God’s creation. This book uses scripture, tradition, reason, and experience to explore the themes of creation and justice in the context of the earth’s changing climate. By creatively employing these four sources of authority, readers discover a unique way to assess the physical realities of climate change, discern its physical and spiritual implications, reflect on planetary warming theologically and discern a faithful response. The book’s premise is that love of God and neighbor in this time of climate change requires us to honor creation and establish justice for our human family, for future generations, and for all creation. From the Introduction: “As we entrust our lives to God, we are enabled to join with others in the movement for climate justice and to carry a unified message of healing, love, and solidarity as we live into God’s future, offering hope in the midst of the climate crisis that `another world is possible.’ God is ever present, always with us. Love never ends.”

Holden is angry.

He’s full of rage.

His world ended.

But it's not too late.

He can still save the world.

So can you.

Heathens is a new novel

by Jonah Bergan

Notes for prospective reviewers:

People ask me what it is about. Heathens, I mean. My new novel. I tell them a version of the blurb above. I give them a card with the url. That's usually enough. We move on to speak of other things. But these people are the regular kind of people, they want to sell me my coffee, or be on their way. Yes, they are the regular kind, but you are the writerly kind, the scholarly kind, and the authorly kind. I feel as if I should tell you something else. I feel I should tell you something more.

Heathens is an emotional tale. It hurts. It hurt to write, it might hurt to read. It's about the road out of darkness, so that's where it begins. There's hope, and a love story, and believe it or not, there's a little humor too, but to find the road out of darkness, first you have to go in.

Heathens is set in a post apocalyptic world. Expect violence and strong language. Use the free preview--the "Look Inside." Read to the end of chapter two. If you don't care by then, you never will.

If you want to review Heathens, here's how to contact me:

-For an E-arc, email me at jonahbergan@gmail.com Include a link to your blog. I'll respond with a reviewer kit and the book in PDF.

-If you review using Kindle Unlimited, email me at jonahbergan@gmail.com Include a link to your blog. I'll respond with a reviewer kit.

On our sixteenth birthdays, our kind is gifted with awesome powers. Except no, not really, because this isn’t Narnia, or Hogwarts, or whatever other mythical realm where witches supposedly live. This is Elizabethtown, Illinois, and much to the chagrin of the local chapter of Susie-Homemakers, we live here.

All witches understand that the universe is a scary sort of powerful on a good day. On a bad day? Well, that’s when The Tower card shows its face during a reading. As summer draws to a close before the beginning of junior year, Rowyn Black is tired of seeing that card stare up at her from the table. Rowyn, Reed, and Rosalyn have made it through just about every dramatic storm their sarcasm could weather during their seventeen year friendship, and it would be nice to have a quiet semester. Rowyn hopes that the only thing The Tower foretells is the frightening sight of the school parking lot come the first day- full of more jacked-up trucks and cut off shorts than a Luke Bryan video. True to its nature, however, the universe doesn’t care much for hopes and wishes, and when the promise of The Tower comes crashing down, they might fall right along with it.

From the author of Dog Duty, Bobby D. Lux, comes a wickedly sardonic collection of crime stories about the misadventures of a pair of brothers who get by as low-level mafia goons. Their exploits take them from diners, to community theater, to midnight bowling alley, and all points in between. The stories in the collection range from the painfully poignant to the delightfully absurd.

Susan Wingate (susan_wingate) | 12 comments Hi everyone!
Thank you for the opportunity to offer up two ARC's for book reviews.

Book 1 - STORM SEASON - upmarket women's thriller
Blurb:
Things aren’t always as they appear. After becoming entangled in an industry as nefarious as it is criminal, Meg Storm gets swept under a riptide in the drug world. She sees, firsthand, how far people in this sinister business will go to continue their criminal activities. With law enforcement at a loss about the island’s escalating drug traffic, authorities decide to use unorthodox means involving secular and non-secular avenues to nip the problem in the bud. However, after Lily, Meg’s daughter, dies from an apparent heroin overdose, and then her husband by the same method, Meg has nothing left to lose. She transforms herself from a meek housewife into a fighting phenom. Will Meg Storm become a victim, a vigilante, or both? Nothing is as it seems.

STORM SEASON shows one woman’s grit and courage enough to deliver thunder upon the island in order to rain down justice on criminals working to destroy people’s lives.

Book 2 - THE LESSER WITNESS - end of times thriller
Blurb:
Would you run into the arms of death to save humanity?

When a comet streaks near Earth, its reverberation throws Croy Justice from bed. The reverberation causes an onset of earthquakes which mark utter ruin on earth, especially on the small island where Croy Justice lives. With a gang of boys who want to scour her of dignity, Croy must outrun the gang or risk a gruesome death at their hands. Will she survive these end times? Or, will Croy be snapped up into satan’s grip? THE LESSER WITNESS is a story about one young woman’s fight against evil during a time when all hope has been wiped clean—when satan is at work and securing his army of doom.

Again, thank you for consider either of these two ARCs for review. I'll look forward to hearing from you!

G.M. O'Neill | 21 comments Jubilee Year has undergone a major rewrite and edit, and is now available for reviews. This is Book 1 of the Erelong Series.

I have copies for review.

We Indie authors often don't have the resources to splash out the $1000 plus necessary for a professional edit and proofread, and in my case I make do with the help of my street team. So I do apologise to those reviewers who have encountered typos in quantities they could not ignore. Sorry, sorry...

The positive side to taking a very long time to complete a polished version of the book is that you do get it very sparkly. :) Jubilee Year is now a really great story - I've been told many times, lately, yay. And it has been edited and proofread to as close to a professional level as my limited resources could afford. This edit is very good - I promise (although, I know there may still be the odd typo hiding until a reviewer stumbles on it).

This is why I am making Jubilee Year available one more time for reviews before I publish Book 2 in the series

Book 2 is almost finished and Book 3 is started.

NB This is a Science Fiction Technothriller. It has an apocalyptic background providing a rollercoaster action adventure. The story for the most part focuses on characters based in Australia, but not only...

I am only too happy to provide Goodreads reviewers a copy. Let me know if you want to review.

Excerpt

She entered with small steps, tentative and beautiful. When wasn't she beautiful?

She was wearing his favorite dress. A peace offering. It was a light green, dashed with white at the thigh and cut low, wispy and light. It suited her perfectly. Her beauty was marred only by the anxious expression on her face. It made his heart break, seeing her like that. He never wanted her to be anxious again. Why did she have to push the way she did, only making problems where there hadn't been any?

"Hey," she said.

"It's good to see you," he said. "You look very nice this evening."

A little smile broke through her serious expression. "Thanks."

"I'm not angry," he said. "I'm done with that. I should have been done with that a long time ago."

She seemed to relax a little. "I'm sorry, too. I never meant to upset you. If I'd known ... I mean, I never should have brought it up in the first place. Let's forget it."

Troy appreciated the sentiment, but he shook his head. "We're not really going to forget it, are we?"

She tilted her head ruefully. "No, probably not."

He sighed. "I didn't think so." He offered her the glass of wine and led her out onto the covered balcony. The rain fell with a dull rushing sound on the roof and sides of the building. The air had a damp taste to it.

She was quiet, waiting for him to speak.

"I always love this city in the rain," he said. "Isn't that strange? I love the sound of it falling, the smell of wet pavement. It's at its best in the rain. The sky is dark and threatening, but the city's still full of light and warmth, beneath all that concrete, shining out through the glass."

"It can be really beautiful," Heather agreed.

"Comforting, maybe," Troy said. "I remember ... well, I wasn't always on this side of it, looking out. I remember what it was like to be wet and cold, on a night like this. It's not something you forget."

Latrice | 1 comments Hello,

My name is N.L. Hudson. I would love for someone to review my novel, which is titled All I Ever Wanted Is A Love Like Yours. It is an Urban fiction/African American story.

Synopsis:

Ises Turner is a 24-year-old young lady from Chicago, Illinois. She's had a rough start on life. Strict upbringing, witnessed abuse, are just a couple of things that were endured. Those situations affected Ises in such a way that it caused her to become shy, timid, and withdrawn from reality. Then as if her life hasn't been hectic enough, she is yet again hit with another dilemma. The tragedy raises the question, "why me?" But then something magical happens; Ises meets a young man by the name of Chaz Washington. Chaz is a 28-year-old, co-owner of the most popular nightclub in Chicago called The Groove. When the two meet, Chaz ignites a fire inside of Ises that had long ago been stamped out. Alas, things start to look up as whirlwind romance begins. However, shortly after starting the relationship, the new couple learns that there are others who aren't as happy about this new union. Can Ises & Chaz withstand the negativity and drama that comes their way, or will they allow the haters to tear apart what they are trying to build?

Micah Foster is what you would call a maneater. She will chew a man up and spit him out before he even realizes what has happened. Not one to tolerate the lies and games, Micah chooses only to use them for their money, and what they can do for her. However, when she meets the charming and oh so suave Vic Taylor, she finds herself breaking all of her own rules just to be near him. Will Micah finally give in to what she has been trying so desperately to avoid, or will Vic become just another casualty of hers?

Take a look into the lives of four people that will do any and everything they can to prove the naysayers wrong by showing them that real love does exist. The question that poses is if they are willing to put in the hard work to make it last?

If you're interested, please respond to this post, send me a message, or email me at Latricehudson2270@gmail.com. At that time, I will gift you a copy.

Thank you,
N.L. Hudson

Madina Papadopoulos | 3 comments Happy Monday! My debut novel, The Step-Spinsters, comes out on August 15th. Please reach out (madinapaola@gmail.com) if you are interested in an ARC to review. Below is the summary:
The Step-Spinsters by Madina Papadopoulos
Once upon a time, in a land far, far away…

...(actually, in Medieval France, to be exact) there lived Cinderella's stepsisters, Fredegonde the tall and Javotte the small. They wake up the morning after the legendary ball to learn that they each still have a chance to be the bride—all they have to do is make their feet fit into that tricky slipper. Alas, these two damsels under stress never quite seem to fit in anywhere. But that doesn’t stop them from wishing and hoping as they set upon a quest for grooms and grandeur of their own.

Latayne | 4 comments I'm getting some great advance reviews for my book, A Conspiracy of Breath, that will be released in September. It's Christian historical fiction.

And it's controversial: a novel based on the ancient premise that a woman wrote part of the Bible.

Check those reviews out here: (*blush*--they're all five stars)
https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/3...

Would you please consider reviewing it? I can provide PDF copies for readers. It's a long book so I don't expect it to be read before the book is published but would appreciate reviews in September if possible. I can provide one kindle or physical copy of the book for a giveaway for each blog.

My blog posts such as --

--are guaranteed not to be boring!

Thank you so much!
