Byron Fortin (byronfortin) | 67 comments Hi all!
I am an author of fantasy and science fiction. My new book, Crescent Moon, Mourning Son, is set to release on September 22nd. I would love to get an honest review. Below you will find a brief synopsis. If interested, please feel free to dm me. I can send you an ARC in whatever format you request. Many thanks in return!

Description:

Nature's War Rages...

With the secrets revealed, lines are drawn deep into the Earth, tearing it apart in the Great Mother's absence. A bloodsoaked rain falls as the dead walk the streets with unimaginable monsters in their midst. Reality itself is split by the choices made, and the consequences may strip away what sanity remains.

The Apocalypse has come and Ambrosia stands face to face with a Celestial… a familiar darkness drawn from the shadows, so formidable now that the Numani—those guardians of the light meant to be our protectors—are frightened. We all should be.

Still, through the peril a hero emerges. Will it be enough to overcome the odds, or is the future already set in stone?

Karen A. Wyle (kawyle) | 9 comments Hello, all, and happy autumn!

I'd love to find some reviewers for my upcoming American historical romance. Since it's the fourth book in my Cowbird Creek series, I'd be happy to provide the first book as well -- though as it's in Kindle Unlimited, I'd be emailing a PDF of the paperback edition rather than an ebook.

Here are the teasers for both books.

Book 1, What Heals the Heart, is set in 1874-1875, and features a dual-matchmaker plot:

-----

Joshua Gibbs survived the Civil War, building on his wartime experiences to become a small town doctor. And if he wakes from nightmares more often than he would like, only his dog Major is there to know it.

Then two newcomers arrive in Cowbird Creek: Clara Brook, a plain-speaking and yet enigmatic farmer’s daughter, and Freida Blum, an elderly Jewish widow from New York. Freida knows just what Joshua needs: a bride. But it shouldn’t be Clara Brook!

Joshua tries everything he can think of to discourage Freida’s efforts, including a wager: if he can find Freida a husband, she’ll stop trying to find him a wife. Will either matchmaker succeed? Or is it Clara, despite her own scars, who can heal the doctor’s troubled heart?

-----

What Wakes the Heart, Book 4, which comes out on October 15th of this year, starts almost ten years later. Joshua, Clara, and Freida are significant secondary characters. The romance this time around concerns two young people:

-----

Susannah looks forward to a rewarding career as a teacher in St. Louis, until a traumatic encounter with the president of her teacher's college drives her to seek a job elsewhere. Karol, a Polish Catholic immigrant living in Cowbird Creek, fears that the town's first school may not respect his bright, eager sister's intelligence due to her limited English. Susannah and Karol meet under propitious circumstances when she first arrives in town -- but once the school opens, Karol's fears for Bronka seem to be realized, with Susannah arguably to blame.

Can they move past this daunting conflict? And if they do, can they overcome the religious and social obstacles between them?

-----

If anyone's interested, please email me at kawyle@att.net!

Shonel Jackson | 3 comments Hi. I have pdf, mobi and epub copies of Book 2 (ARC) of my Martial Arts Contemporary Romance series
Can be read as stand-alone. If you'd like to check out book 1 also, let me know.

Playing With Fire (Era Capoeira, Book 2) - Released 5th December)
Plot:
In Playing With Fire, Book 2 of the martial arts series, Era Capoeira, we meet Javier Martínez and Luna Michaels. Their story begins with a one night stand. The connection between them is instantaneous. One look into her golden-brown eyes and Javier is hooked. The problem was that he had no business being attracted to Luna or any other woman for that matter, right now. His trip to London was supposed to be a short one. Javier’s life at home in Spain and the past he was still dealing with, ensured that he would stick to that plan.

Luna had been to many of the Capoeira workshops at the school she’d been a part of for years. They were the highlight of the season and she always looked forward to them. This year, however, she meets one particular invitee, who she simply cannot resist, nor does she want to.

When their one night of passion comes to an end, Javier walks away from it feeling guilt-ridden, and Luna, with a little surprise.

Eve Evans (eveevansauthor) | 4 comments Looking for ARC reviewers on my winter thriller, Frost Falls.

Here is a synopsis of the thriller, and the link to booksprout will be below that to get a free copy for review.

Synopsis:
IN 1958 THERE WAS A FIRE...

Some say the fire claimed the lives of those that died inside. Others say it was the reason several people jumped from windows and balconies to their deaths... Then you have the rumors... rumors that witnesses did not see a fire at all. Only terrified people jumping to escape something horrifying... but what?

Eva loves a good ghost story, Madison not so much. In need of a best friends getaway the two embark on the town of Frost Falls just in time for the grand re-opening of its newly renovated hotel...

The former hotel of horrors.

Not long after arrival the two begin to feel something is amiss. Voices... strange dreams... and a journal that seems to be possessed by something demonic. Will Eva and Madison get the answers to their queries, or will they too fall victim to Frost Falls and it's dark charm?

George Bachman | 26 comments Seeking reviewers for my book. It is a fantasy novel titled The Shroud and it has just come out on Amazon and other bookstores.

The story takes place in 16th-century Europe. In it, Queen Elizabeth's former spymaster, Hertford, is recruited by a court faction, the Owls, to recover the Shroud of Turin from Rome before a rival faction can do so and use its supernatural power to usurp the throne. He succeeds, but when a third party starts killing off people from both sides to take the Shroud for himself, Hertford discovers that Gotthard Kettler, an old enemy of England, has reemerged to destroy everyone.

However, when the Owl that Hertford tries to alert is murdered, Kettler frames the old spymaster. Hunted by vengeful members of both factions and suspected by Elizabeth herself, Hertford is forced to go it alone as he pursues Kettler through catacombs, underground churches, and London back alleys, seeking to stop the conspiracies against him, the factions, and the queen by uncovering the secrets of the Shroud that link them all.

Blurb: If Paige isn’t careful, her new job could land her in an early grave.

Paige Turner’s zero-balance bank account demands she take on a new job, but she never expected it would be as Shadow Harbor’s newest librarian. Now the unlucky orphan is learning it’s not books she’ll be shelving…but magic. Dark, dangerous, deadly magic.

Her new position requires she keep the supernatural subworld at bay while retrieving and archiving magical artifacts from around the globe. If she fails, the world may just be doomed…but even trying could get her killed.

Teaming up with a snarktastic teacup dragon doesn’t seem to be helping, either. Paige still struggles to master magic and shelve supernatural secrets. And when her first assignment involves massive multiplication of a group of wayward werewolves, she fears the world may not survive her tenure as librarian.

Fans of The Librarians and Warehouse 13 will love this enchanting new urban fantasy series.

Lara Bronson Hi, if you like time travel and paranormal romance that is funny, adventurous, and has Vlad the Impaler as a secondary character, then Bitten by Time might be a great fit for you.

Here is the book description:
After I accidentally time-traveled to Vlad the Impaler's castle, not only did I have to survive as a maid by pretending to be mute, but I also had to avoid a handsome knight who found out about my secret.

Trigger warnings are attempted sexual assault and violence. But for the most part it's very lighthearted and sweet.

George Veck | 19 comments Hi, if you are into hard hitting, grippingly realistic crime dramas -

One Visit - In sleepy, rural North Wales, Frankie Gibbs, a recently laid off, aimless twenty-year-old on Universal Credit, wants nothing more than to keep his younger brother out of the care system. He single-handedly takes this upon himself while their alcoholic, cocaine-addict, single-parent father, Guy Gibbs, heaps misery on their lives through systematic abuse and his never-ending wild parties. After Guy is sent to prison, Frankie is coerced into opening his home to Justin, an acquaintance from his school days now turned drug dealer, while his own addiction and self-worth spiral beyond recognition.

George Bachman | 26 comments I would like to ask if you would review my e-book.

Jens B. | 1 comments Hey all! I'm publishing my Sci-Fi novel on 05/29/23. If you're interested in reading a free early copy in exchange for a review then please send me a message.

Title: Amorphous
Genre: Science Fiction (speculative, dark & gritty)
Length: 131,000 words
Format: pdf of the print copy

Logline:

A city of genetically flawless humans try to keep their technology out of the hands of their less fortunate neighbours.

Back of the book blurb:

"As he stands before the amphitheatre, a thousand voices calling his name, the wretched face Calo used to possess is entirely forgotten. There is nothing but bliss as the people embrace him as their new champion. His genetic modifications have elevated his status to that of a god, but having a perfect form is a dangerous thing in the Sacred City. The Eternal Ideal is reserved for their flawless leader, Venatrix, and any who challenge his perfection meet their end in the most excruciating of ways.

In order to become an ascendant being, Calo has left his family in the dredges of Peranthium, a place of mud, disease, and self-inflicted suffering. His sister, Secara, toils away in the temple of Morah, working for a divine being that has convinced the populace to deprive themselves of any pleasure or possessions. She uncovers a burgeoning plot to steal the most invaluable prize—designs that would turn her people into flawless beings, but corrupt their souls in the process, as had happened with her long lost brother.

As a deadly scourge begins killing thousands, the modifications that the altiserum brings are seemingly the only way to save a generation of Peranthians from almost certain death."
