Here's a little bit about the novel, which was inspired by the true story of my late father's life:

Raymond Blanco never intended on leading a life of many roles, but after more than 90 years of experiences, he has a hard time remembering many of them. Raised in a Sephardic family in Egypt during the height of a growing resistance against Jews, Raymond maneuvers his way through childhood and into young adulthood with the guidance of his older cousin, Albert. When the two of them find themselves as key members of a Cairo based Jewish spy ring, they must both make quick decisions that will ultimately determine the course of their lives.

In the midst of split-second choices, Raymond loses contact with his cousin but spends the rest of his life trying to find him again. Unable to stay in Egypt, Raymond finds his way to New York City, where his life is marked with success, international travels, and prosperity. Although he builds a solid foundation in his newly adopted home, he can’t help but feel the unmistakable void left from his cousin’s disappearance.

Home in a Hundred Places portrays dynamic relationships rooted in adventure and loyalty but stained by years of disconnect. Over the course of nearly a century, Raymond’s life is led by deep-seated familial traditions, unconditional love, and unanswered questions. As Raymond’s life progresses, the onset of Alzheimer’s disease slowly erases his memories. Raymond struggles to hold onto a lifetime’s worth of experiences and is scared that he will one day forget Albert before ever finding him again.

Zombie Walkabout is a zom rom com. The zombie apocalypse may be over but the vacation of a lifetime has just begun. Sam goes to Australia to work as a zombie safari guide (it really is 100% safe), but finds himself questioning his beliefs. The cute scientist isn't bad either.

The Soldiers' Perspective tells the military sci-fi story of a war without a good side nor a bad side. The poor planets unite to steal from the rich with enough excess to share. Unfortunately, history has shown the alliance unworthy of additional charity. Each side has a POV Soldier who would easily be friends with the other, if they had only met under different circumstances.

Wow, that is so sad, I don't know who would have the heart to do that. I have noticed that on a few threads here, that there were some people badmouthing people's books. They're all different accounts, but I think it's the same person.

I also got that same email, as well as the same 3 extortion attempts. I think whoever is sending these doesn't actually know who we are or what work we've actually written, and is just blasting these emails out to whoever they have on their list. I've yet to see any one star reviews on either my Goodreads or Amazon page. I'd advise you go through all your posts and remove any references to your email, to reduce chances of future emails like this being sent your way.

So I'm not the only one that got that email, figured it was a scattershot attempt for how unsubtle and rookie it is. I reported them with the IP details to Amazon, Goodreads, gmail's anti-phishing service and reportphishing.gov.uk.
As if things weren't bad enough with people like 'Mary' who said she hated my book after reading I copy I sent her, that I never sent, and with a private locked account. I wouldn't be surprised if it was one such 'troll' behind this wave of emails.
If you wish to report them, as phishing or spam or blackmail, get their IPs. You go into emails, the 'more' tab next to the reply button, and open the tab 'open original', that will show the IP details. Copy those to your clipboard and into any emails sent to appropriate reporting agencies.

Hey Monika, within the last few hours I've already been targeted by new users trying to defame my book on various groups where I posted review requests. Some of them being quite egregious. Do you have any advice on how to deal with this? I think it's the same people who have been extorting us...

I've been getting badmouthing comments on my writing by people who haven't even read my book, right as I got that extortionate email also. I've flagged their comments, but really, this just isn't fair. I only hope the antiphishing websites and services in the UK government, amazon, gmail and goodreads manage to do something about it. Because, as I said to them after flagging their comments, extortion is a crime.

Normally I'd post a review request here, but as I've done it before, I'll instead warn you all that there's a spate of online discussion group trolls on the prowl.
It correlates with a series of users receiving a phishing/extortionate email threatening goodreads and other review site bombings unless a payment is made, and the email itself was laughably unsubtle and imprecise as to where and whom the payment might be made. Likely this has become obvious by other threads, but it bears repeating that trolling is pathetic, and EXTORTION is a crime.
I'm calling out these users with no profile pictures and private locked accounts, as suspects, likely a mere ripple atop an ocean of hateful individuals.

I hope the reporting of the extortion email to a uk government anti-phishing address gets at least one of these people, they're like an army of haters who need a better hobby.
Joke's on them though, writers are more likely to be remembered for making something than the trolls that do nothing but destroy, and thus leave nothing to be remembered for. Even more so if they get big.
One reason I'm writing books and publishing, I'm thinking long, long term. Even if they don't sell well, my books will outlast me.
Their troll comments will die long before the stories will.

Yup got the new email and sent another spam report to Goodreads with all the emails combined in one image. I hope they take this seriously. I also think whoever this person is, is also reading our comments on this thread, as in the message I got I saw him use the word "egregious" which seemed quite out of line with the way the rest of the message is written.

To my fellow authors who have received the same or similar threats, please don't be discouraged. You made it this far because of your hard work, determination, and talent. Don't allow anyone to take the shine from what you have achieved and know that I believe in you and your talent.
To my fellow reviewers who provide honest and insightful reviews, we rely on you to make us better writers. Of course, our aim is always set that you will enjoy our efforts, but I understand that we don't always get it right. Not even big star authors do, but I assure you that we put our best effort into our work. But this is a forum where authors and reviewers mingle, and what is one without the other? This is for the record:
On May 10th, Goodreads authors, myself included, were subject to coordinated extortion/phishing emails threatening 1 star review barrages, and lo and behold, they did, and likely will still.
Multiple reports on Goodreads have been filed, gmail reported as phishing, Amazon have been pre-warned against these attacks, and many, myself included, have reported these emails with IP details to government anti-phishing and anti-extortion lines, the UK government and the FBI in America to name some.
EXTORTION IS A CRIME.
If these depraved and greedy individuals with multiple accounts had any skill, they'd at least not write in all caps, and make their efforts more subtle.

Goodreads has started removing these reviews as well as the comments and associated accounts. If you haven't already done so I suggest flagging the reviews and comments ASAP, so that it'll be easier to clean up the next wave assuming this person intends to continue through this farce.

To all authentic Goodreads reviewers, you should know that although these fake reviewers are trying to sabotage our author reputation, they are also attacking you by pretending to post valid reviews when in reality they are destroying the validity and purpose of Goodreads. Some are stealing your ID. This is actually a very serious crime. Be careful out there.

Flagging any and every comment is just best, detailing that they are all accounts set up in May 2021, which a quick check confirms where they're foolish enough not to make private, which is in line with a coordinated series of extortion emails sent to many goodreads authors.

I'd suggest not commenting at all and just flagging. Goodreads will eventually remove those comments, so leaving non-contextual responses afterwards won't really help in the long run.
