Greg (gregmorgan) | 3 comments Hello Looking for someone to review, I only have pdf at this time.

I have a historical southern, civil war era romance. "Weeper"

"They that sow in tears shall reap in joy." The small smile rose again, brightening her face. "I remember well the day of your birth, Augustus."
"You do?" Augustus asked. It was then that his brother, Jefferson, pulled him away from her, and her veil again fell like a curtain. Although Augustus didn't know it yet, these were the first words he had ever spoken to his birth mother, and he would not uncover this secret for another eighteen years.

In mid-nineteenth century Southern Pennsylvania, generations of the True family have made their living by providing funeral services for the deceased as “warners”. When Archer True meets Charlotte Fenn, a paid mourner or “weeper”, he finds himself entranced by her. But their adulterous affair results in pregnancy and the scandal of their unborn child threatens to wreak devastation on the Fenn’s livelihoods.

To avoid ruin, Charlotte agrees to give her baby up to the Trues, and when she gives birth to her son Augustus, he is taken to the True residence to be raised as their own. Charlotte vows never to let Augustus find out the truth, but when Augustus runs away to a military academy as a teenager, Charlotte pursues him, unable to bear being too far from her secret son.

But life in the mid-nineteenth century is hard: the only thing certain is death. As the Civil War rages around them, the secrets of Augustus’s birth are about to unravel in the most devastating way possible…

I would like to read your book. I'm a slow reader and it usually takes me 4-6 weeks to read 400-500 pages. I'm currently reading a book, so it would be 2 months before I cold review it. If you don't mind the timeframe, you can send a link to cmhenkel@yahoo.com. Thanks., Cindy

S.J. Lowe Seeking Reviewers for Literary Humor/Satire

Greetings! I write dialogue-rich “literary” novels steeped in satiric humor—an under-appreciated genre. I am particularly interested in gaining Amazon reviews for my first series e-novel, The Tiny Fiancé.
https://t.co/74JVZ3HEgI?amp=1
Summary: “In this spin-off of the academic mystery, a homeless man poses as an English professor with disastrous—and hilarious—consequences!” The book is clean and quirky and a fun read. Anyone interested in writing a short review for Amazon? I can provide a PDF. Please contact me at tinyfiance@gmail.com. Thanks for your interest!

Alexandra McLaughlin | 7 comments Hi!

My name is Alexandra McLaughlin and I recently published a novel called Aboard. I wanted to write something that spoke to the issues young women face as they manage real life and social media, but in a humorous way! This book is a new adult (main character just graduated university) romantic comedy.

Here is the back-cover blurb:

Elizabeth felt she was losing the social media game. While her friends were hiking mountains in Peru and petting exotic baby animals, she was going to her normal 9-5 and living in her normal apartment. Her Instagram posts just couldn't compete! Why did it seem like everyone's lives were so much better than hers?

One night she hit a breaking point, and after extensive vlogging research, she realized what she needed to do. Travel the Mediterranean in a gorgeous sail boat with, preferably, a hot man. True, she had never stepped foot on a boat of any size. But that was not going to deter her from getting the picture-perfect Facebook cover photo while relaxing in Sardinia.

Unfortunately, Elizabeth soon learns that what appears online does not necessarily translate into real life. She is thrown into a world of stormy seas, difficult relationships and eye-opening realizations about how she's been living her life.

I have an EPUB and MOBI copy of the book available to send for free.

Let me know if you are interested in reviewing this!

Zita Harrison (httpswwwzitaharrisoncom) | 41 comments Hi, I'm looking for reviewers for my recently released book, Owl Manor - Abigail. It is book 2 of the Owl manor Gothic Suspense Trilogy and follows Owl Manor - the Dawning. I can send both for reviews if you want to read and review them both!

https://amzn.to/2Y3SQje

Set in the late 1800s in Colorado, it is the story of Abigail, the daughter of Eva from book 1. Here is the Amazon description:

14 years ago, Owl Manor trembled with echoes of madness, mysterious deaths and marauding owls.

In 1870, Abigail flees the horror of Owl Manor with her fiancé, Peter. But she carries with her the terrible notion that she is unworthy of love, instilled by her reluctant mother. If her own mother could not love her, how would anyone else?

She trusts no one and keeps herself buried in a crypt of churning emotions, away from the world. Deep inside, her soul screams at the thought of dying alone and unloved.

Now she is back. Abandoned at the altar, and with nowhere to go, she returns to Owl Manor. Thus begin the nightmares of violent rage and destruction, ghostly images.

What really happened 14 years ago?

Enter Victor, the complete opposite of Peter, yet frighteningly familiar at times.

And the owls circle the sky once again.

Inspired by authors such as Edgar Allan Poe (The Raven), Daphne du Maurier (Jamaica Inn), Carlos Ruiz Zafon (Shadow of the Wind), Owl Manor - Abigail is the second in the Owl Manor trilogy of Gothic suspense novels, and follows Owl Manor - the Dawning.

I can send a .mobi, .epub or .pdf. You can reach me at z@zitaharrison.com.

Thanks.

Adan Berkowitz | 1 comments Hi, I'm looking for people to review my new horror novel, The Touch!

The Touch

Jessica Kolb can kill people with her mind. She’s only done it once, to her brother—an accident, but that doesn’t assuage the guilt. She’s kept her dark secret hidden, not that anyone would believe her, anyway. But when she discovers someone with the same ability in her small Wisconsin town, she’s desperate to know more. Maybe she can finally learn why she’s been given this sinister power.

That someone is Claude Weissman, a popular local doctor. Jessica’s got a million questions, but talking to him yields no answers, only a deep revulsion that sends her running to throw up. Digging into Weissman’s past, Jessica confirms her gut was right: Weissman’s a murderer, a conman who fleeces his patients before killing them with his Touch.

Cunning, sadistic, and able to kill without a trace, Weissman is a terrifying foe. She’ll need the Touch to beat him, but she’ll need uncommon strength to resist its seductive power.

If that sounds interesting, I can provide .pdf, .epub, or .mobi. I'd love for anyone to read it and leave an honest review! You can message me here or at adan.berkowitz@gmail.com.

Thanks very much!

message 878: by Beatrice (new)

Beatrice Sylvie (httpswwwgoodreadscombea2) | 8 comments Greetings,
Am Bea, Cappuccino lover, and mama to a squad of boys ( 2 kids, 1 jack, 1 bunny)

“Love takes off masks that we fear we cannot live without and know we cannot live within.” James Baldwin.

It is thinking of this quote, and many other reflections on love and empathy, while watching the cacophonous news during the 2020 lock down that got me to write this story. A real love storyThe Glass Boxes In Which We LiveThe Glass Boxes In Which We Live with sentiment and character, and the barriers that society build between us.
Who would like to review please?

It has been a Hell of a year so far where we witness what is best in us and the worst as well. From the wildfires in Australia , Amazon and California, to the flooding in India, the earthquake in Turkey, the sudden death of Koby with children in the crash with him, the humanitarian crisis in Venezuela, and at the US borders…the Covid19 pandemic, and its death toll, the suffering of millions of people, Georges Floyd, the black lives matter and civil unrests, the explosion in Beirut, Hurricane Laura, destructive tornado in Iowa,… and if it could not become uglier, 4 days ago the shocking passing of King Chadwick Boseman.

“We all know the truth: More connect us than separate us. We must find the way to look after one another as if we were one single tribe.” T’challa.
A laugh and cry contemporary romance.
"The Glass Boxes in which we live" is a modern women fiction.

The story of Alienor unfolds over a three years timeline from 2017 when she first moves to Miami til 2020, in a humorous and sarcastic yet very honest way. The challenges of a single mother. The challenges of a 40 something woman as well :) The awakening to corporate america fierceness and the reality of a high level director female in an all male office. The difficulties an expatriated family faces, and the adaptation to verity of things versus expectations. The hilarious yet sometimes devastating shock of cultures. And then she meets him. Very different than her yet very much alike.
Is a love story possible?
Can they break out of the glass boxes society have each of us in?

Alienor is a 43 years old, sassy, well established career mom, sporting a very privileged lifestyle in one of the best neighborhood of Miami, just trying to find herself again after her failed happily ever after.

Wesley is a still single 39 years old, athletic and handsome melanated man, working a night job to pay the bills, still pursuing his dream to break through as an actor with a financially unstable and unsustainable way of life in NYC.

Their lives are poles apart, yet their paths cross.

John Lennon once said that there is nowhere we can be, that is not where we are meant to be.
Is love powerful enough to pull us into a different world than the one of our expectations and upbringing?

She was not expecting him. She was not expecting her here.
released: :The glass boxes in which we live."

Noel Silvia | 3 comments Hi, readers and fellow authors!
I'm getting ready to release my first book and am looking for honest reviews. The elevator pitch would be "The Kite Runner meets Cloud Atlas".

The book is about (from the description):
What starts as a mystery revolving around the discovery of a dead body becomes a timeless story about people and the courage they show in the face of life’s adversities. Through their individual hardships, from battlefields to brothels, they undergo the chaos and consequences of decades of struggles that not only affect the ones called to serve, but the loved ones left behind to survive the emotional and physical scars they incur.
It is a story about love, even if it means losing it. It is in this journey through the darkness that opens the doors to hope and the place where light enters to heal. It is in the confluence of these moments where love, comfort, and solace can be found.

Here's a link to the Amazon page for it:

If you like sad stories with happy(-ish) heartfelt messages, I'd love to send a digital copy for review to readers.
You can PM me directly or email me (noelsilviawrites@gmail.com) if you're interested and I can arrange sending you a digital copy.
Thanks and happy reading!

I am about to release a Queer/LGBTQ+ Horror short story collection (The Other Side of the Closet) in early October if you would like to review (about 31k words, quick read).

Blurb:
The Other Side of the Closet explores the real life nightmares of the LGBTQIA+ community through a bloody and morally twisted lens. A random hookup gone wrong. A gay bar haunted by a dead drag queen. A demented family reunion. A couple who can’t let go.
In his first collection, Patrick J. Kane transports you to a dimension where your darkest insecurities are magnified beyond your control. Where the horrors in your mind have taken shape in front of your very eyes.

Warning: explicit language, sexual situations, body horror, gore

WINNER OF "READER'S FAVORITE" GOLD MEDAL PRIZE IN 2020 " FICTION CULTURAL " GENRE

“A terrifying red train was speeding along the rails. That train, which passes by here daily, seemed so sinister to me now. For it was rushing toward me . . .”

The life paths of two strangers, both of whom have decided to commit suicide by train, cross on the iron rails. They are looking for a way out of life's dilemmas and see no reason why they should continue living. Their lives are approaching the final station; they are waiting for the death train.

These rails in Canada take the reader back to the past when the protagonists haven’t been born yet. The beautiful and stubborn Serbian woman, Adriana, comes to Mostar to write an article about the rights of Serbs being violated in the Balkan Peninsula. Her prejudiced views change when she gets to know Mostar and her good-natured and intelligent guide. Despite herself, Adriana, who was raised with hatred for the Bosnians, falls in love with a man from this “hostile” nation. Her fascinating life story reflects the struggle on the way to one’s deeper self, which unfolds against the background of love, selflessness, betrayal, and the horror of the Srebrenica massacre. Who will win in this struggle?

This novel shows how deeply a human being can sink, what evil floats up when one gets into trouble, and also the spiritual peaks to which a human can ascend. On the one side, a terrible war, whose main victims are women and children. On the other, love, coming out victorious in the hardest trials. It might be easy to die for the sake of loved ones; to live for them, dying and being reborn every day for years—that is the toughest task of love.

After a complicated childhood and a traumatic past, Sarah Cook became the ultimate Good Girl. Her partner, the gentle and handsome Brian Marshall, has become her safe place; the stability she never received as a youth.
.
When the sophistically rough Julian Cooper steps into her life, Bad Girl resurfaces. Endless work pressure, an eccentric mother, an eventful holiday, and a secret that could destroy her friend’s career; all send Sarah spiralling into renewed anxiety.
Soaked in Julian’s cloud of intoxication, Sarah’s darkest desires bubble to the surface like hot oil seeping through her life. Beside the lonely beauty of the New Zealand shoreline, Sarah’s about to find out how much life can change in a matter of weeks.
.
For it isn’t just her body he’s awakened; it’s but the non-negotiable desire of her soul.

Charles Stoll | 5 comments Looking for reviewers for my sci-fi adventure Mind Gardens, winner of the 2020 Independent Press Award "Distinguished Favorite." Reply to cstoll5@cfl.rr.com for a PDF or Moby copy. The Mind Gardens produce intimate knowledge of its inhabitants' every thought and feeling and offer eternal life. So why is everyone so afraid to enter them? This novel demonstrates why we often fail to communicate effectively.

Linn Chapel (linnchapel) | 13 comments The Gargoyle’s Secret (Stonehaven Mysteries, Book 1) by Linn Chapel

Seeking Reviewers for COZY PARANORMAL MYSTERY novella:

The Gargoyle's Secret (STONEHAVEN Mysteries, Book 1)

When Laurel Bachmann arrives at Stonehaven Manor to craft a feature article about the historic coastal mansion near Bar Harbor, Maine, the talented young photojournalist quickly learns that the owner of Stonehaven resents her intrusion upon his privacy.
Matters grow even worse when she stumbles upon a buried mystery that could cause a news sensation and ruin the Chevalier family’s sterling reputation.
But that’s not the only enigma, for Marc Chevalier himself seems to be harboring more than one secret.
... A cozy, engaging mystery novella set on the rugged coast of Maine, The Gargoyle’s Secret has two mysteries wrapped up in one tale, with an added touch of paranormal romance (for those readers who like a bit of romance to go with their mysteries!) and an exceptionally unusual gargoyle.

If you're interested, just sent me a message through Goodreads or email me at linnchapel@gmail.com.

Dion Anja (dionanja) | 5 comments Hello, I'm Dion. My upcoming and self-published poetry collection will be released on November 13, 2020. I am willing to give 10-20 copies of my book in exchange for free and honest review on Amazon or Goodreads or both if you would like :) Here's the book description:

Dion Anja's first poetry collection explores the various shades of life from a young-adult woman's point of view such as love, death, nature, anger, and fairies. Fueled by her imagination and surroundings, Anja aims to resonate with your heart and soul because she believes poetry is a shared feeling regardless of place and time. All of the poems have been written in the chaotic atmosphere of the pandemic and this ephemeral state of existence urged Dion to self-publish.

Here's the link: my dawn is only five hours away

The format will be both PDF and epub. The book is 64 pages long in print, so it is pretty short. If you are up for it, please reply or PM so that I can e-mail it to you. Thank you in advance.
