Why do you like action/adventure in your romance and books?

I love stories that are plot intensive with some characterization but am not found of overly emo books. I have some I love but overall, I'm looking for books with fast plots that keep me engaged. I love the feeling I get when I finish a book and cannot stop thinking about how much it kept me going. This is what I strive for in my writing as well.

I'm a sucker for multi-stage explosions :) In books and movies, I love to walk away feeling energized, and action/adventure has that level of energy for me. Kapow!
