This is my first attempt at this series following on the heels of George RR Martins "A Song of Ice and Fire" which I finished last year. I'm about half way through Book 1 and loving it! Lots of character development, long complicated story lines with hard to pronounce places and people. Seems like I have found my next "best read"!

Abhinav | 16 comments Glad to hear that! I started off my WoT journey (I think) 3 months ago, and I'm into book 12 now. It's been an occasionally frustrating (it's incredible the number of proud and stubborn people that can be packed into one world ;) ) but ultimately enjoyable experience.

However, after I'm done with this I'll probably not read fantasy again for about 5 years - whew it's draining. :)

Serge Fjetland (corhen) | 7 comments i read WoT, and now cant get into Song of ice and Fire! whenever i start reading it i think "i could be rereading WOT for the 6th time!

hard to give much higher praise than that!

Misa (mitsubachi2g) I started Song of Ice and Fire last year before I got sucked into WoT. Now I'm stuck halfway through Clash of Kings. Martin does have some heavy plot and lots of drama, but the story in WoT is so much more interesting to me. Currently neck deep into Book 3, and I agree with above comments, I want to shake some pride out of these characters. Guess that Jordan did a good job, then.

Wow! I began this discussion back in Jan and now it's March... I've just finished book 6 Lord of Chaos on audible. Is anyone else reading this series for the first time?

Misa (mitsubachi2g) Wow, I'm still stuck on book 3! Too many things keeping me from my books. I never thought of audio books. This could help. And I've always wanted to know how to say half the places. I have Game of Thrones on audio, but forgot and got the book. Thanks for the great idea.

James (jamespeck) | 6 comments The narrators of the wheel of time series are awesome too.

Amber Hoxit (clove311) | 13 comments I have been listening to them since book 5 I think and It's so much better IMO. I love the narrators, they bring so much life and character to the books. I get my audio files from audible, but you can also go on amazon.com and find the cds if you want those :)

Amy (thewritetherapy) | 10 comments Ahhhh I started with the audiobooks and I have never regretted it. Michael Kramer and Kate Reading are some of the best readers I have ever, ever listened to. I'm partway through Knife of Dreams and I can't imagine the books without their voices. Reading is faster, but I agree with Amber, the readers bring -life- to the characters and make it so much more dramatic.

Gianluca (gianlucag) I started the series on September and I'm glad I managed to finish the first 14 books just in time for A Memory of Light to be released. Now I'm waiting for my copy to arrive. I'm really excited to see how it ends, yet oddly sad at the same time.

Kyle (kansaskyle) First time reader here, and new to the group. I just finished The Eye of the World, and I'm enjoying the series so far!

I'm a first time reader too! It's never too late isn't it?

Exactly!

I heard about the series for a long time, but hesitated to start it when my friend was bogged down somewhere around book eight years ago.

When I heard Sanderson finished the series based on Jordan's notes, I thought I would give it a go.

It seems like one of those cornerstone series if you are a fan of epic fantasy.

Victor (279victor) | 9 comments It's so entertaining!!!
(Equally boring at times but I can easily ignore that esp due to our fox-character)
