You mean with farming? Smaller farms being overshadowed by larger ones so even the food goes bad on them with people hungry. Larger farms paying small wages so no one can survive. Bad situation and one of the best books of all time on the human condition.


Very sad book indeed, especially the scene at the end, and the "voyage" of Rosasharn's baby. Ominous portents regarding the generation to come don't you think?


I think it speaks to what is happening today. The "people" just keep coming and can't be forgotten no matter how often they are.
