Jody I've never been into the whole western thing, but I loved this book. I've since obsessively read most of what Doig has written, but this remains my favorite. Epic, sweet, sad, smart...

Carol Guze This book was recommended by a friend and the contents were a complete surprise. It was a glimpse of those Europeans who settled the state of Montana and the difficulties they endured as well as the the complex human relationships that develop in all communities and families.

Margie This book is one of my all-time favorites. Everyone that I recommended it to has also liked it.

Blueberry It was very well-written. It was a thoumbs-up for everyone in my book club.

Mike Mullen If you enjoyed this book, pick up Doig's English Creek. In my opinion it is even better, and involves itself with the same family, different generation.
