I was hoping the clue about nuclear war would tell you it was a 20th century person and the Queen Mary mentioned would be George V's wife.

Isnt PBS great?
I knew you must be a fan when you once guessed "Lady Marjorie Bellamy" to one of my clues.
I haven't watched Masterpiece Theater much since about 1990, but was raised on it in the 70s and 80s.
I am certainly a fan of PBS generally, though! I was one of the first generation to watch Sesame Street (so odd that it is almost 40!).

When Jack Norworth and Nora Bayes called it quits, he moved to London and played the vaudeville circuit (so to speak) there to great acllaum.
For those who don't know, Jack Norworth wrote "Take Me Out to the Ballgame" in 1908 but didn't see a professional ball game played until the 1940s.

What is a life peer?
A life peer is (or was?) a member of the House of Lords without the hereditary title. Usually distinguished "retired" politicians.

Marco, I have always been curious about how American history is presented in other countries, especially in Britain.
Is our history mentioned much and at what level?
Im especially curious how our Revolution and Civil War are presented.
I read recently that the British are just coming to terms about how to teach the history of their empire, especially on how it relates to colonialism and immigration to modern Britain.

Our history is much shorter, though, in our defense.
