I will be looking for the next installment... the alternate reality where they live is scary... Cinder is saved as a child by cybernetics implants (38%) but she is no longer considered human in their society...
It was a fun read. I was knew that this was targeted towards a younger crowd so I expected it to be tame and have nothing really happen in it. It turned out a little more than that happened in the book and it was entertaining. The only thing I didn't like was how it's supposedly in the future but all the robots are designed to look and sound like Johnny 5 from Short Circuit.
It was good!!!!!!But my favorite mysterious part was when sje storms after him, and kisses him. Very great book.
I think the attempt to add futuristic elements into an otherwise aged old tale is really clever! However, I find the realtionship between the two main characters underdeveloped and there is inadequate world building, as many readers have already mentioned. I'm looking forward to the sequel though and hopefully we learn more about Cinder and Prince Kai too though it seems the sequel will focus on different characters.
Its so good!!!! Yeah its a fairy tell retelling and some of the things are obvious but its so good. Its one of the best YA's out there and seriously at times you are surprised by how well the author pulled the fairy tale off, you could never have imagined this kind of retelling.
Heather wrote: "I am wondering how this is"This is a really fun futuristic version of the Cinderella story. My daughter and I really enjoyed it. Can't wait for the next book. It is a series.
I was pleasantly surprised by this book. It's a retake on the Cinderella story but it is different enough that you won't have to worry about singing birds & mice. Definately recommend.
I was surprised at how good this really is. The second book comes out in Feb I can't wait to see this story grow. It is not corny like I thought it was going to be.
This book was so good! I finished it in like three days.... The main character Cinder is really awesome, and not in the least bit annoying. She's smart and funny, and can take care of herself. The plot is really good too! I can't wait until the second book comes out!
I think its so sad that we have to wait for another year for the next book. I absolutely loved this first book and I am impatiently waiting for the next one.
My middle school daughter got this book the day it came into her school library and devoured it. She was so excited about it I read it too. It is a retelling of Cinderella but set in the future and Cinderella is a cyborg. All the traditional Cinderella characters appear with a new inventive take. It was a wonderful read and we have preordered the next one in the series.
It's a really enjoyable read! Of course it goes without saying that there is some predictablity. Despite this, there's really nothing not to like about this book :)

Oh and she wrote a short story called Glitch which is the back story on how Cinder came into the family. It is quite informational and gave great insight!

Read this just the other day and found it captivating. It one of those books you don't want to put down until you finish it because you want to know what happens next...definitely looking forward to the second book in this trilogy.

i read it and i found it really good, definally in top ten i just cant wasit for the second one to come out and i think u should really read this book, i read the book in a day
Penny wrote: "A good retelling of cinderella, however, I was not happy with the way the ending was left open."well it was open in the way that you know we know what to anticipate in the next book because cinder is the main character of the series so her story will end in the last book of the series.
