Jamie Sinclair | 939 comments Hi all, you might already have read that earlier today my dog Ralph was injured by another dog and has lost part of his right ear and is spending the night at the vets to recover from his operation to stitch it up. For that reason, and only that reason, I'm donating all proceeds of my book sales for at least the next 7 days to two local animal charities. I can afford to spoil my dog and cover his vast vets bills, plenty of animals aren't so lucky. Here are the websites:
http://www.animalcare-lancaster.co.uk...
http://www.wolfwood.co.uk/

I don't want folk misinterpreting this so it's the only time I'm going to post it. Bottom line it makes me feel better and I'm just sitting here worrying about the little fella, as is the wife. Normal service will be resumed tomorrow.

Jamie Sinclair | 939 comments So, it's Monday. Start of a new week. Somehow my fact based crime thriller from 2013 is still in the top 20 on amazon UK. Don't know how or why but it's a lovely start to the week. By the way, if anyone wants more info on the events in the book give me a shout and I can provide links.
The Trust

message 104: by Jamie (new)

Jamie Sinclair | 939 comments Afternoon all.
The Trust is still selling pretty well. Instead of more blurb I thought a bit of background might be nice since the book is based on real events and people. For a start the serial killer into the book is based on an American chap called Jerry Brudos. Loon. Here's a link.
http://crime.about.com/od/serial/a/je...

Meanwhile the cover up angle of the plot which kicks things off is based on the anthrax testing off the coast of Scotland in 1942, you can read about that here. Then go and grab your copy of the book!

message 105: by Jamie (new)

Jamie Sinclair | 939 comments So, for the next few days our American chums can get an exclusive version of The Trust in paperback. It's totally reformatted and has a new cover and is now officially the first book in my new DI Ashton series.

Jamie Sinclair | 939 comments The book signing was amazing!! Not sure if this counts as promo or not. Either way, people came, they listened to me read, they asked questions, they bought books, I signed them, there was cake and coffee and I've booked 3 more dates in late May. It's like a mini tour because it's on consecutive days. Details to follow, be lovely if you could come!

message 107: by Jamie (new)

Jamie Sinclair | 939 comments Right, since my last promo delivered tangible results I'm doing another. As of this Friday, April 4th, my latest novel Ballroom, Bars and Seawater Baths will be free on Kindle over the weekend. Tell your friends and enemies. Download, enjoy, review. I'll be mentioning this again.

message 108: by Jamie (new)

Jamie Sinclair | 939 comments Good grief, in amongst all the excitement I completely forgot about my next American promo. My original Morecambe crime thriller The 24 Hour Jazz Cafe will be available for the reduced price of $0.99 via my new chums at Book Gorilla! SO if yuo fancy bargain jazz themed intrigue get yourself to Book Gorilla tomorrow!!

Jamie Sinclair | 939 comments Morning, quick and easy promo. My new book, Ballroom, Bars and Seawater Baths is FREE all weekend. It's the sequel to the Jazz Café, features the usual Mitch and Rupert madness. It's still set in Morecambe, has the familiar jazz soundtrack and is set in the iconic Winter Gardens theatre. So, free book, no downside. Spread the word.

Jamie Sinclair | 939 comments Hi all,
I've been absent for about six weeks but now I'm back. I haven't done any promo, or anything online, in that time as I've been writing the third in my jazz café crime series. As of ten minutes ago the first draft is done. 86,000 words. Six weeks. Lots to work on. But for now it can sit and wait while I get back into the swing of things.

message 111: by Jamie (new)

Jamie Sinclair | 939 comments Much excitement. I'm in the local papers. All of them! For those with no interest in buying a real copy, here's a link to an online edition. Woo!

message 112: by Jamie (new)

Jamie Sinclair | 939 comments Now then gang,
As lots of you will know - some of you have been directly involved - I've got a new edition of my very popular novel The 24 Hour Jazz Cafe out as of today. To get round Amazon's annoying restrictions I've classed it as a brand new book - it's not. So it's got no reviews but I can offer free copies etc now. Anyway, spread the word, if you like my books you know what you're getting, this version is 2000 words longer than the old version, better edited and various scenes are tighter/more detailed/make more sense.

message 113: by Jamie (new)

Jamie Sinclair | 939 comments Morning groovers,
I've done one of them Kindle Matchbook affairs. It's just on amazon.com and it's for 72 hours starting today (17th August). So if you want a copy of my very well received crime thriller sequel Ballroom, Bars and Seawater Baths for the reduced price of $0.99 then pounce! I think the price will go up after 36 hours and then back to full price after 72 hours. Spread the word!

message 114: by Jamie (new)

Jamie Sinclair | 939 comments Hi all, I'm on a mini break with the wife but couldn't help but react to a review I received yesterday. The 24 Hour Jazz Cafe has received all 4 and 5 star reviews, until now. Check this out
"If you like graphic violence and violent sex, this is the book for you. It is well written, but treatment of group rape scene really turned me off. The book was recommended for our book club, and we all decided we would never read another book by this author. And ultimately, the motive for the murder was flimsy at best."
So, if you fancy having a look, dive in. To mark the occasion my most violent book The Trust, is free from tomorrow.

Jamie Sinclair | 939 comments Hi all, my latest book is just about finished. I know there are several folk on this site who do wonderful proof reading so I'm after volunteers (I already have two!). I want someone who is willing to cast an eye over my latest effort and point out obvious, or not so obvious errors. Of course, they might not be errors, but if you point them out, I can clarify. Then, I want reviewers for the finished novel. Obviously there's free copies all round for those who want to play. Let me know if you're keen and I'll add you to the list. Then when it's ready I'll send you a copy. Kaboom!

message 117: by Jamie (new)

Jamie Sinclair | 939 comments Excellent news. I feel a bit like I'm putting together an elite group to tackle crime and so on. Of course we'll need costumes, and crime fighter names.

message 119: by Kath (new)

Kath Middleton | 23860 comments Back in the day. ;) Now I'm more like Tired Woman!

Gingerlily - The Full Wild | 34228 comments Tackling crime in your sleep?

Kath Middleton | 23860 comments Sad, though, innit?

message 124: by Jamie (new)

Jamie Sinclair | 939 comments Not many years ago I'd have been dashing to the shop to buy one of them there firewoman outfits for the wife. Now we're looking forward to a bowl of soup for lunch before going to agree a price for our new carpets with the fitter. Ho hum.

message 125: by Jamie (new)

Jamie Sinclair | 939 comments Right then, that's the new book done. I shall be sending it to my awesome army of proof readers shortly. But for now, I've just time to walk the dog before we dash out for tea.

Jamie Sinclair | 939 comments Kath wrote: "Any time - that gets you in the queue! Got my email still?"

I havent actually Kath. If you send me it I'll send you the manuscript and it can go in a holding pattern until you have a gap.

message 134: by Jamie (new)

Jamie Sinclair | 939 comments Kath wrote: "Let me know when it's ready for reviewing Jamie."

Will do. Ive recruited a few proof readers. I think this will need more tweaking than my usual books because its so different. But when its done, a finished copy will come your way for review.

message 135: by Stuart (new)

Stuart Ayris (stuayris) | 2614 comments Congratulations Jamie! I'm just a little way behind you in the new book being done stakes but I feel your joy! Good man!

Thanks stuart. Ive been following your progress with the new book on facebook. I do admire your late night sessions. Used to do it more myself until my job moved further away.

Stuart Ayris (stuayris) | 2614 comments Pleasure Jamie. Insomnia has its uses!

message 138: by Jamie (new)

Jamie Sinclair | 939 comments So, final edits (for now) complete on new book which is called Fear. Cover and some formatting to finish. Meanwhile, there's 87,000 words of the next book already written which I am playing with today. This will be the third book in the Jazz Café series and sees the return of Mitch, Rupert and DS Harper.

message 139: by Kath (new)

Kath | 1233 comments Been a while... how's things going?

message 140: by Jamie (new)

Jamie Sinclair | 939 comments Kath wrote: "Been a while... how's things going?" I'm glad you ask! New book FEAR will be released 29th June. I've literally just updated my Facebook and Twitter with the info. I'm just reviewing the Kindle file and then the plan was to send you a copy for review if you still fancy it?

message 141: by Kath (new)

Kath | 1233 comments Great news...
Do I?
Hell yeah... :)

G J (Gaff to my friends) Reilly | 1836 comments Congratulations Jamie, I'll look forward to purchasing a copy of that!

message 143: by Jamie (new)

Jamie Sinclair | 939 comments Huzzah! I shall post again with a pre order link for amazon. But for now I must walk the dog.

message 144: by Jamie (new)

Jamie Sinclair | 939 comments Morning all. My new novel, Fear, is now available to pre-order via Amazon. It will be released on the 29th of June.http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B00XK...

message 145: by Jamie (new)

Jamie Sinclair | 939 comments Evening all. As promised/threatened depending on your opinion of my books, review copies of my new novel are now available to them what wants them.
Kath - you had your name down. I just need an email address/somewhere to send it and away we go. I have to admit I have no clue how this will work. Does Amazon even let you review a book that's not even released?

message 146: by Kath (new)

Kath | 1233 comments Not amazon, but if you load it up here, I can post my review here and then it'll be all ready to cut and paste to Amazon on release date. I can also post it to book clubs so they can pre-order too...
Email coming in PM.

message 147: by Jamie (new)

Jamie Sinclair | 939 comments I see. Daft question given how long I've been a member but when you say "load it up here"... how? I've added my previous books, but only once released. I have no idea how to actually make it available to read.

message 148: by Kath (new)

Kath | 1233 comments Pass. I only know that people put books on goodreads before they are released and other people can post reviews and add them to tbrs. No idea on anything else. You'll need a librarian I guess...

message 149: by Jamie (new)

Jamie Sinclair | 939 comments Evening all. This might not work but I'm adding bits of my new book to Wattpad to entice folk to buy a copy. Here's a link which may or may not work. Enjoy and expect more ham fisted promo!
