Jamie Sinclair - writes crime books set by the sea, mostly.

Weirdly it was in America. The book is set in Lancaster and is all about Primary Care Trusts, patient abuse and the goings on in a former mental hospital. God knows what a reader from abroad will make of it. Still, thanks to whoever it was.
Since then, I've shifted another half dozen and the paperback will be available by the middle of next week.

Found a pile of rejection letters from agents today. But among them were several expressing interest. In April 2001 AM Heath and Sheil Land asked to see my debut novel Playground Cool. By the 9th May I'd signed with Sheil Land and thought that the world was mine. I was 24. The world decided it didn't need me telling it what to do and now I work in the NHS.

I've also started Work on the front cover which will be a moody pic of Morecambe Winter Gardens where the body of....oops, nearly gave it away!

Last day of the month for September Kindle sales. I don't do much promo but a coupl eof sales before midnight wouldn't hurt so spread the word if you would.
The Trust and all my other books are available on Kindle, in paperback, and all other digital formats right now. If crime thrillers with a jazz soundtrack, based on real events, are your thing, then my books are your thing!
Thanks

As for the sequel...it's very nearly ready and oh so topical. The main plot was practically on the news last week, that was a shock but confirmed I'd picked a good story.
I love that people keep asking and that you are so patient. Means a lot.

Ballroom, Bars and Seawater Baths is out now. It's the sequel (much anticipated?) to The 24 Hour Jazz Cafe which means more Mitch and Rupert, more jazz music, more murder and this time it's all set around Morecambe's famous Winter Gardens. Hang on, there's blurb!!!!
"It is eighteen months since the Midland Hotel burned to the ground. Now the 24 Hour Jazz Cafe stands in its place.
Owner Mitch Johnson is missing, leaving his oldest friend and business partner Rupert Watts to run their new venture.
A woman's purse is found by children playing on the beach. Then a man is brutally murdered in his bathroom. Newly promoted DS Jane Harper must connect the pieces to find a killer.
But when Harper learns that the purse belonged to the wife of the murdered man, and that the missing woman has run away with Mitch, Harper begins to wonder if her consulting detective might actually be the prime suspect.
This thrilling sequel to The 24 Hour Jazz Café pushes Mitch and Rupert to their very limits as they are exposed to a case far wider reaching than anything they have faced previously. Even detective Harper, usually in total control, is floundering as the clues lead nowhere and mistakes are made.
In the end, with Rupert in danger and a lack of options, it is Mitch who is willing to risk everything to see justice done."

Good luck with the paperback release, I really enjoyed reading it.

In other news the book signing is all booked and sorted. We've even ordered posters and a swanky a-board to stick outside. Woo!
Anyway, 10AM. Headway Hotel, Morecambe. Saturday 29th March. Free coffee and cake. We'll be reading, chatting, answering questions, there's a petting zoo and a magician. Or not.

More good news, my first crime book The 24 Hour Jazz Cafe is now listed on the Waterstones website. Ooh! That's step two of my three step plan complete. Now I just need an account with Gardners and I can approach Waterstones to stock my books in their shops. Woo.

So, to everyone who made the effort to get a copy, many thanks, this is why I do what I do.

Thank you to everyone on this site for putting up with me and huge thanks to those who have actively promoted, reviewed, edited and generally helped out with my fictional ramblings. I know it won't last, but I'm enjoying the ride.
