It woudn't catch my eye neccesarily...but I woudn't not read it. It's just not really my thing.

The name and the cover didn't really do anything for me, but all of the good reviews I saw here on Goodreads did! So I read it and now its one of my favorite books.

I'm glad that this was a book I read for school, because the book cover does not do the book justice. It's actually a pretty awesome book.
My niece and I had our own Newberry winner reading group a few years ago. We would select 5 award winners at a time, read them together, and discuss them by phone. We both loved this book. The cover played no part in our decision to read it or our enjoyment of the book.
