both are really good!"GTK, Jenne. I have Blood on Silk TBR and keep forgetting about it. I've read the first Graveyard Queen & short and look forward to getting to #2 soon as well.
I have currently started reading 5 books
(6 if you count a short
) and I can't seem to focus on any of them even though I'm dying to read them. Plus I have a whole slew of books waiting in the wings. Argh!! This always seems to happen to me when I have a huge TBR pile actually in my home. When I'm lacking things to read I can't seem to read enough. What the heck is that about?
Maybe you need to take a breather? They seem to be good books (only know half of them). Go for another genre before you come back to them? Sometimes it helps for me.

Although this weird lack of focus is affecting me in other aspects of my life. I am easily distracted lately (in fact I got distracted twice while writing this). That oculd be a contributing factor to this too. I guess I'll know if reading something else doesn't do the trick.
I am no serial reader, I need variety. I always jump form series to series...maybe that's why I started so many I can't keep up.

Valerie ~ Val Hall ~ wrote: "I am no serial reader, I need variety. Usually I just go with whatever I can get from the library, but I've been buying more books lately and series like the Lords of the Underworld haven't been difficult to get from the library.
I own every single LotU book. And I've only read through Book 4,
. I managed to read the first 3 or 4 right in a row before I got burnt out from them. Need to get back to them soon.
Read
and recently finished
and
which I loved...Currently reading
which I know is going to have another cliff hanger, and listening to
Rats! Another cliffhanger? I've got that (Shadow Fall) TBR and wanted to start it soon-ish. Boo! Oh well, I'll still read it, but least now I know. ;) Howzit so far, Liz?
SF is pretty good so far. It starts off a few years later with the council meeting in TX which brings Deven back...
I'm reading
and the first hundred pages really, really ticked me off. The second hundred pages were not nearly as irritating so there is still hope...
Valerie ~ Val Hall ~ wrote: "I am no serial reader, I need variety. I always jump form series to series...maybe that's why I started so many I can't keep up."Me too! I can't read a series back to back unless it's REALLY good and usually I don't read more than 2 or 3 books in a row.
When I'm in a funk, switching genres always does it.
I used to always read the whole series at once, but I've slowly converted to skipping around series to series. Otherwise it gets too repetitive and my eyes just end up glazing over as I read the books....
I finished
and
so now it's back to
and starting
. I'm still gonna make the Lords of the Underworld wait. Not quite ready to jump into those again.
Val, that's very good to hear! I've only read the first but looking forward to the rest :D@Sandra: Yay!! Mine arrived yesterday so I might have a Kitty Katt marathon soon. Although when I got it, my sis looked at the cover and was like "what's wrong with her leg??" I have to admit, it does look a bit weird lol.
Just finished
. Really liked the beginning and then it descended into sappiness via poetry *sigh*I'm reading
. Random, I know :)
Josie, it's a horrible cover, though having read the story the background sorta makes sense, but Kitty just looks all wrong.

The Kingdom was one of the best books I've read this year. If you liked the first one I recommend reading #2 ASAP!
I finished up the Georgina Kincaid series last night
I'm sad it's over. Next up is
which is another series I'm highly addicted to!
Yeah, pretty terrible. As long as the book's awesome though! I love these ones in the series
. They are very cool, I imagine her like #2 and #4 :)Angelfall is excellent, Christine! We're all just waiting for the next one lol :P

Another great Kitty Katt book!!!!!"Wait! What's wrong with this cover? I don't know about you, but I always practice my Captain Morgan pose when I have on an evening dress. Sadly, I rarely have a weapon at the same time.
Funnily enough I saw the video of them making the cover incl the model and how they got her to pose like that. It didn't make any sense then & even less now I've got the book in front of me. The background makes sense having read the book but she is just all wrong.

I'm reading
I've barely made a dent in it but I've had the hardest time finding time to read lately. Freaking family obligations. Lol

I'm currently reading
at the moment. It's been on my To-read forever but finally picked it for my Bingo Read. I am loving it so far, needing a whole chunk of time to just sit down and read it constantly!

And after finishing Doubletake, I wish I had six more to read. : )

LOL! It was really great. I love the mystery of it as well as the different characters.

Jenne, which ROOK have you started? The one (cover) in your post or Gin's? I ask b/c I started listening to the audio of the one by Daniel O'Malley and it was very interesting, but confusing. I had to put it aside b/c I didn't/don't have time to pay as close attention as needed to fully understand all that is going on. I'm definitely lookin' forward to getting back to it soon though. Just curious if it's the same one you're reading and if so, how you're liking it.
