Galadriel Thoman (khylira) | 14 comments I just saw on Amazon that there will be a new Secret Circle book, The Divide out in March. I also found out that LJ Smith was fired from having anything to do with The Vampire Diaries or The Secret Circle, presumably because she sold the rights to the CW. There's no info on what the new book will be about, but I am guessing it will not be a continuation of the actual books, and will be a story about the kids they have in the new series. I watched a few episodes because TSC was my favorite series when I was about 13 and I was so excited to see it come to life. I love the actors playing Adam and Cassie, but I had to stop watching it because they ate my beloved books up and vomited out soap opera trash. Writing a new book as a companion to the eviscerated story is actually offensive to me. Actually, the whole idea of using a popular author's name to promote books based on TV shows based on that author's books while having fired said author so she can't profit on her own ideas is offensive to me. Anyone have any thoughts?

Ann (annabell123) | 45 comments I love The Secret Circle show, but I have never read the books. And I am realizing more and more just how much the ideas change when it is turned into a tv show. I absolutely love The Lying Game books, but the tv show added so much stuff that doesn't belong. I still watch it and still like it, but it isn't like the books.

I plan on reading The Secret Circle books for sure, maybe The Vampire Diaries later. I had started watching The Vampire Diaries...I was almost done with the second season, but I just got bored with it.

Ali | 3 comments I adored both TSC and TVD back in the early 90ties when I was in my early teens. I'm impressed with what they did with TVD cast & show but not so much with TSC cast or plot. The only cast member I like is Cassie. They didn't to Adam justice (or he just has too much eyeliner on- gag me). So for the books TSC will always win for me. Looking forward to the continuation but concerned LJ isn't involved? Big fan of TVD series but tried one of the new books and it was awful! Hoping the new TSC doesn't end up the same.

Galadriel Thoman (khylira) | 14 comments If the new book continues the story of the first three books, I am really excited. But it seems more likely that it will be a book based on the new world created by the show, and that's not good. I just don't understand why they had to change so much to make the show! They got rid of so many great characters and took out the earth-based powers they all had, which as a Wiccan, kinda upsets me too. I did stop watching after three episodes, so maybe it got better, I don't know.

Danniella Duff (danniellathepaganwitch) | 6 comments How many books to the Secret Circle are there then. I've read the two are there anymore? I've read two and I don't care to watch the TV series

Galadriel Thoman (khylira) | 14 comments Yes, there are three, and a fourth is coming out soon, but will most likely have little to do with the original story, and more follow the storylines of the TV show.

Danniella Duff (danniellathepaganwitch) | 6 comments Huh don't really care much for the show but all well. I'll have to look out for the third book, i really got into the last two books. I guess I'll have to use my imagination on the fourth. Thanks

Stephanie (stephsco) I read these forever ago, but I don't remember much of the plot. The show is kind of a miss for me, although I LOVE The Vampire Diaries.

Karina Have not seen the show although I hear is good but I recently read the books and I did not like them much...
