Initially I thought Rose inherited the sensitivity from her mother - her grandmother's distance seemed to be a response to being overwhelmed by the world. However, then it turned out to come from Rose's father side. I wonder if Rose's mother was higly sensitive too - and with that both Rose and Joseph ended on the extreme end of sensitivity.
