"Peter Jackson has once again stepped up as Satan's Little Helper to direct the two-part film and is once again using witchcraft and wizardry to peddle the film, even though the books had strong Christian undertones (good vs evil; Christians vs Atheists) but Jackson being the self-proclaimed Atheist he is obviously doesn't want to present this movie in the way it was meant by Tolkien."
Pretty sure Tolkien himself said that these stories are not at all meant to be Christian allegory. I guess it's not surprising to see such a blatant untruth in a blurb rife with statements suggestive of mental imbalance.

I think some people had blinkers surgically implanted at birth...
have you read any of the other articles on their, its terrifying that people really think this way.

Absolutely. Tolkien had an ongoing argument with friend and fellow Christian CS Lewis (who Tolkien had helped find god - although it stands to be pointed out that even when he considered himself an atheist, Lewis was looking for god, but I digress). Lewis thought that all their writing should reflect their faith and be a moral lesson, while Tolkien insisted the story should be paramount and that making it into allegory weakened it. I also think that he recognised, from his familiarity with the Germanic and Celtic languages and myth cycles, that the richness and power of a story had little to do with its theology. Between Tolkien and Lewis, I know whose writing I prefer.
Whenever I see this sort of website I have so much trouble working out whether it's a parody or not. The line is so fine, as demonstrated by christrwire.com: http://christwire.org/2012/01/12-reas...
These guys are absolutely right. I'm sure since the Hobbit is being directed by a "self-proclaimed atheist" it will be nothing but "anti-Christian bigotry". And the theme of good vs evil is completely a Christian theme, not a universal at all.
