Jim -- you may address this later, but I have been suspending following these threads until I could resume reading The Waves. Would you give a good reference that describes what you mean by "a very different narrative form"? My literary structure sensibilities aren't adequate to discern -- and I have read eclectically enough across sufficient varieties of work, that I don't intuitively define the "basic" narrative form with which to contrast.
