Happy reading everyone!

I just read this thread and boy I am shocked as to how many books some of you read in a year. I thought I would try and do one a month so I have 12. Now you make me feel I should up it a little more. Maybe like 20. Any ways, I just wanted to introduce myself and let you know I also was doing the challenge.

For 2012 I am starting with a goal of 60 books, but I will definately try to increase that to 100.
I am also trying to increase my walking in order to get healthier, so it's possible that I am working at cross-purposes to myself, lol.

i think the same way about audio books, I've only listened to one full audio book which was the life of Lee Evan which was really good because it was him reading it making it more funnier but I've only listened to half of a fiction book (vampire) and it didn't appeal to me, i think its because the accents of the people reading. when i read it the accents sound perfect to me but listening hardly ever sounds right. also i sometimes think it takes the pleasure away from reading and the feeling you get when you finish a book but that might just be me! :/

Sarah, I am glad to hear I am not the only one that "looses something" when listening to audio books. I never thought of the voice/accent. That could be it or at least part of it.

I can't listen to audio books either. I can't grasp the story and it doesn't stick in my head and I will loose concentration and not hearing the story at all. Those few audio books I've tried, I was also really annoyed by the narrator. I think that I just want to create the voices, accents myself.
I've put myself down for 40 books, but I hope to exceed this, so may adjust the number later in the year.
