So if it isn't a book they already have and the only place they can get it is through Penguin...then it is a no go on the book.

@Hayley: do we have to read in sequence for this series?
I like the Virgin River series too!!! I've only read the first one and need to get back to them LOL@ Juliet...You can read them as Stand Alones is what I have heard from all my other friends reading them but if you are like me, if it says series I want to read them in order LOL .
@Robin & Jenny - I never heard about the Peguin debacle. I'll have to go find out about it now. My curiosity is piqued.

AHHHHHHHHHHH...Thanks for the info Jenny. I did a little bit of research and it appears that a lot of people are upset about this.
@Jenny - Thanks! Yeah...I can see why people are upset about that. There's just so many changes going on with how we read. Hopefully everyone can get the you-know-what together (incl. the big six), and get back to what's important: Keeping us book addicts supplied! ;)
I'm a little bit hooked on Kristen Ashley at the moment. Finished
at 2.30 this morning, and I'll be starting the
this afternoon. I've had quite a few laugh out loud moments in the last read, was trying to do it quietly so I didn't wake up the hubby lying next to me :-)
I'm currently reading
by Brigid Kemmerer and
by Moira Young because they both looked good and I couldn't decide between the two.
@CaroB - I keep hearing that about her - whether it be this series or the Colorado-something one. :)
Read
and started
and
.
Lately, I've been itching to stick to series instead of bouncing around. I think I miss the familiarity that comes with reading them back-to-back. Now I just need to figure out which one to start with. I have so many to get caught up on.

Y'all have flown through a ton of books while I was gone last week! I'm reading
and am really enjoying it :)
@Jenny - I used to read back-to-back, and would get burned out. So, I started bouncing around. Now I'm bouncing too much and am missing the coziness of reading back-to-back. Can't win!!
Oooo...let me know if Levi is any good. :)

I got about halfway through
and stalled out on it. Slow paced and predictable. Moved on to
which seems to have a lot more depth so far. Plus, this will wrap up my August challenge since it's a book that starts with "h". Yay!

Rachel wrote: "Ann, you are blowing right through the Monk series! :)"I know, I keep thinking I'm going to read something else when I finishe the one I'm reading but then I just go to the next one lol.... It is a very good series and I really like Monk and Hester and all their friends.

what do they do in the walls? do you they munch on the timber?
I've never seen a squirrel before !!!
@Jenny - I just finished
and gave it 4 stars. Good writing, but in a few places a little slower paced than what I prefer. But, at the same time, that totally fits with the storyline, so can't really complain about that too much. Overall, it was lightly emotional, and really very sweet. I'd definitely recommend it.
Good to know about
. I won't rush on to that one.

I don't know what they do in the walls. Maybe make nests? All I know is that it's creepy sounding hearing them scratch in the walls at 2 in the morning.

Yes that's creepy but the bright side is they don't cause you 5000$ or more to get rid of them and replacing the eaten timbers!
When I had to call the termite people out for the third time within the last month for live termites - after they were supposedly killed - I asked them to kill them slowly and painfully. The little buggers have done a lot of damage to my house!
Termites invading the house is one of my worst fears. So far I've only had to fight ants getting in, and it's annoying, but I'll take that over termites any day of the week. I feel for you guys. I really do. *shudder*

I'm going to start
sometime today for the buddy read if I can concentrate !
I started reading
which I think is Taboo, but I didn't know it. Oops! *feels naughty* *grins anyhow*

I don't know! *cringe* *reads through my fingers* We'll see how it plays out. It hasn't gone anywhere in that direction as of yet, but now I'm wondering if it's going to.

I'll be honest, Elishia. I almost shelved it last night because I didn't really feel like being "brave" right now. But I picked it back up this morning, and now I can't put it back down. I'm at about 35% in, and I think I see how the author is going to spin this. Of course, I could be wrong...but I think she's going to pull back some punches, so to speak. If she does what I think she's going to do, then, in the end, this wouldn't be a Taboo book. Maybe awkward, thought-provoking, and skating on the edge of moral content, but not Taboo. We'll see how it plays out.

A "book" should have a beginning, middle, and an end. What Peguin did was split a full-lenth novel into 8 little segments and is charging $2 a piece for them. Not only that, but over 25% of this "book" was an excerpt of a novel the author wrote 4 years ago!
I hope this isn't the new trend in publishing.
