Ahtims (embeddedinbooks) | 4853 comments shouldn't the title be Reading Goals for 2012?
My foremost goal is to improve my quality - less of crime thrillers, more of classics. I want to read atleast 20 classics this year.

Becky (divadog) | 1015 comments In 2011 I read more books than I ever had. I started with a goal of 70, and raised it to 100 mid-summer. I ended up with 110 books - nearly twice what I've ever read in the past. I increased with audiobooks, and I also read 17 books on leadership/learning for work. And I have to say, I'm pleased with the overall quality (LOL - Smitha, just counted, and I had 19 classics last year - man, they are called classics for a reason).

I'm puzzling over what to put as a goal for 2012. I may start with 70 again. My goal for years has been about 52 - a book a week, so 70 feels like a good amount.

Elizabeth (Alaska) I don't actually have a goal/challenge number, but I do keep track. Both years were about the same - 66 and 68 respectively. (That's not what my stats on Goodreads says, but I have dates on a spreadsheet.)

I will continue to participate in my challenge group, not exactly in terms of quantity, although that's one aspect of the challenge. The group challenges me to choose books I might not be reading otherwise, or to help me choose which books to read that I've already purchased.

Becky (divadog) | 1015 comments Elizabeth - Good point. I never thought of a "Number" until Good Reads put it in front of me.

I also have a spreadsheet I've kept since 1994 - it is kind of scary. I track #, genre, rank and now type (audio, e, traditional). I really get a kick out of it.

Elizabeth (Alaska) I wish I'd kept track over the years. Although I've always read, some years I wasn't reading very much, finding other activities to occupy my time. But I know I've never read as much as I have since joining Goodreads and seeing what others are reading, their reads always turning my head to try new things.

Jennifer | 229 comments I have averaged about 35 in the last two years. I am setting my goal for 50 again. Hopefully this year I'll hit that mark.
