I splurge on shoes, sunglasses and used books, specifically vintage cookbooks. There is not a used book store in this world that I can just pass by and not peek in.

I love love love Vintage Cookbooks. Especially the Betty Crocker ones from the 1960's. They are about 5x7 in size with a spiral binding and hard covers. I have several of them. LOVE them.

Tea. Serious. I love tea. When I was in China for work last year, I spent my splurge budget on mid range green teas (not cheap but so good!).And books (I think that's a 'yeah, obviously' on Goodreads!)
Mary, I have an old original stained up Betty Crocker too. What nostalgia... I also splurge on some food items, depending on what and how I'm cooking. Vered - I love both coffee and tea. My favorites here are from Teavana - the orange blossom and youthberry blend is heavenly. We finally got a store so I don't have to have it shipped. Love coffee too - as dark as I can get it. I have Caribou shipped.
My big splurge, other than the obvious books (which is my biggest expense) is fabric, Lumiere fabric paints, Angelina fibers, any cool fiber arts stuff... for quilting and costuming. I buy pieces and supplies to have on hand when the need arises.
Books and makeup. I don't wear it everyday but I get dazzled by the pretty colors and cant help myself.
I don't really "splurge" on big things, but I probably spend too much on books, stationary, iced coffee, and tote bags. :)

my brother is a big fan of different tea bags and of course they come in different flavours. i went to his flat in london with my parents and he has a whole drawer dedicated to his tea and there are a lot believe me.
i don't usually splurge, but i do sometimes on puzzle books, magazines, diet coke (wouldn't anyone??), sometimes chocolate, and notebooks. it's only because i love them too much. when i go to Cyprus on holiday i have to get two puzzle books, a magazine or two, a bottle of diet coke, a bar of chocolate (or packet of minstrels) and a notebook.
Other than books, and I've cut back a lot recently, its shoes. I love shoes.
Cowgirl boots! I'm a country and a southern girl and I have to have my boots. I recently bought a $400 pair of boots from Ariat. And I'm a broke college student too it's totally a splurge.
Apart from books for my ereader, l do love to splurge on my 2 fur kids (doggies) for myself l love a good cup of coffee and kithchen gadgets.
Besides books? Make-up, purses and craft supplies. I've been making bookmarks so lately I've been spending money on scrap booking papers, buttons and other embellishments and ribbons of all kinds. For make-up I can't resist lipsticks and glosses. I have a huge collection of lip products.
Books, video games, and art/craft supplies are what I like to splurge on the most. Sometimes clothes are thrown in there, mostly graphic tees. ^_^
Handbags, sunglasses, shoes and tea. I love to drink tea and I became addicted to pretty expensive ones.
Oh dear. I am very boring. I don't splurge on anything. I can't afford to, but even if I could I don't think I would. I can't think of anything I want that much. How dull is that?

I splurge on food, useful items for me(shampoo, internetand iced tea from fast food, and I too have no extra for much. Its due to the fact that I am on S.S already.
Body lotion - I have tons of the stuff! Also cross stitch kits & books. I used to have a thing for handbags, but got over that a year or so ago.
Candles. Yankee Candles and Kringle! My mum and me order quite a lot at once when we place an order!
Priscilla wrote: "Candles. Yankee Candles and Kringle! My mum and me order quite a lot at once when we place an order!"Kringle? Are you talking about the pastry? I get the candles but never have to order them. Funny enough, I have ordered a pastry or 2 called a Kringle that is made in 1 place in the world that I know of.
Sending money to the candidates I believe in. Now or never.Shelley, Rain: A Dust Bowl Story

Eye cream - Shiseido - because it's the best. Shoes. Boots! You can never have enough lovely leather boots.
I just bought 3 new Nativity sets for Christmas. I already have 3 dozen others -- can't help myself.
Kathy wrote: "I just bought 3 new Nativity sets for Christmas. I already have 3 dozen others -- can't help myself."I have about 3-4 different sets as well. I love the different and unique. I collect Snowmen, I try to buy one new snowman thing each year. My mother got me the chair covers for my dining room last year. Now its tme to start looking for something else :)

Kringle Candles are a company that is owned by Yankee Candles original owners son. He has taken his dad's original candle making company, which we all know know of as 'Yankee candles'.Yankee were bought over years ago, So the candles are Yankee Candles, like they used to be! I love them, they burn a lot better than some of the new Yankee candles too. they have a website too. ;)
I love going to a used book store and splurging on books by my favorite authors as well as finding new ones. I love home decor as well and am always finding beautiful things for my apartment.
Beth wrote: "Besides books? Make-up, purses and craft supplies. I've been making bookmarks so lately I've been spending money on scrap booking papers, buttons and other embellishments and ribbons of all kinds..."Hi Beth YEPP lip glosses r my splurgie addiction and of course books!! :)
Books, yep. Notebooks (more than I'll ever use in this lifetime), note cards (I use them all the time), hand lotion (currently obsessing over Tokyo Milk), handmade soaps, coffee, exceptional food for the pantry. I'd love to say "shoes" but I can't afford them and every time I buy a pair of shoes my husband breaks out the "I only have four pairs of shoes at any given time -- dress, everyday, athletic, and steel toes" conversation and frankly, I'm afraid if I keep rolling my eyes they'll stick like that.
A mixture of different things. DVDs, notebooks, puzzle books, bags and maybe the odd diet coke and chocolate.
Oh where do I begin?1. Tera, I am with you on the toilet paper. I can't stand any that comes apart...Charmin Ultra Strong is my weapon of choice. I just gave away some Costco toilet paper to my mom this afternoon from the old days before I knew any better!
2. Priscilla, I just heard about Kringle Candle being owned by the real Yankee Candle people and am SO excited to try them out. Yankee Candles just aren't what they used to be.
3. Handbags. Marc by Marc Jacobs. My favorite. Though I should probably say handbag. That was all I could afford. 3 years ago. And I use that baby every day and will continue to use it until it falls right off my shoulder!
4. Food. I will pay almost anything for a good steak/meal/desert. I had a perfect humane/grass fed one the other night in a fancy pants restaurant and I a)don't know how much it cost because it was a special and I didn't look at the bill and b) don't care because it was the best steak of my life and c)would go back there tonight and do it all over again if I could!
6. Sunglasses. Chanel. I loved mine so much that when they were stolen I went right out and bought the exact same pair. Quite simply the most ridiculous splurge. It is one thing to say you bought them once...but then to go and buy them again?
7. Nancy, I love Teavanna's Youthberry. I did buy some. I even bought their little tin of rock sugar for a few million dollars. It was so expensive though that I just don't know that I am going to be able to do it again. I may just have to stick with the Twinings Earl Grey.
I am going to stop here but could go on and on and on. I think I may have a problem. I do clip coupons and use a gas savings card...but I don't think it comes even a little bit close to making up for all of this!
Lori - I know what Kringle pastry is. At least the Swedes do a shortbread type crust with an almond/egg filling that gets baked over it. OMG I love that stuff. Stacy - I know what you mean about the $$ of Teavana - it is not my daily treat!
We all seem to scrimp in some areas in order to splurge in others!!
I guess I like to wait and do big things like taking vacations overseas! I budget my books so that is a need for me not a splurge! But maybe getting fabrics for quilting, like I could ever finish all the projects I have fabric for already!
Oooo Heather and Sofia - chocolate... what type??? Lindt truffles, Ritter, Ghirardelli... yum... not to mention all the more obscure imports.
Cosmetics are definitely a surge but since I've gotten into books - I have been known to surge on special edition books. :) I just can't resist pretty things! :)
Nancy (NE) wrote: "Thanks Regine - that was a good morning chuckle! From any place in particular? Victoria's Secret?!":) My derriere doesn't discriminate. As long as it's pretty and soft, I'll buy it! Victoria's Secret my number one place for bras though.
For cosmetics, I like Lush skincare (and their bath stuff is amazing too) and MAC lipstick.
