Nikki, I'd like to try this but I am a little unclear as to the rules. Every time you do it you only have to clear one category and what you are choosing is how many times you will do that throughout the year right?Example: I pick #1 in January and #2 in February I now have 2/9 complete?
You are free to do it that way or you can try to achieve a different level each time that you so it. So for the first one you try to achieve #1 and the the next month you try for #2. It can be done as many times during the year as you want. Each time that you do it you will create a new thread. Does that make more sense?
Yes it does, thanks Nikki. Now I need to figure out when I could possibly get 24-48hrs reading time... the real challenge lol!
Johanna wrote: "I just finished my mini challenge! I got three books in two days!"That's awesome! Which categories did you finish?
#5 Passport Stamp: a book either written or published in different country then where you live #6 Movie Passes: Book to Movie; (a movie you haven't seen)
#8 Assess your Financials: a book that you own, borrowed or got from a library
How many times did you get interupted?...I am not sure my husband will leave me alone long enough to get this done!!
I think not that many times really, or if I was it was by myself and not my man :) I do sometimes seem to be able to concentrate amazingly well though! and I don´t have kids so :)
I am doing a second mini challenge now, starting from today! I am going for 3-4 categories, we´ll see how it goes! I am working next time on Wednesday so I should have time for this!
I'll be mini-challenging me for this weekend, June 16 & 17. But I'll have to do household stuff along with it. Will see how much I can get done :).#1 Mini Door Stopper: read a book with 400 or more pages
A Magic of Twilight
#2 Series Lockout: read the 1st book or the last book published in a series
Erak's Ransom (German version is awaiting book #8, so #7 is the last one published for me as I've started this in German)
#3 The Dust Book: a book that has been on your TBR shelf for 6 months or more
Burn My Heart
#4 Buddy Recommendation: get a recommendation from a GR friend, (book must be something you would never pick for yourself)
The Traitor's Daughter
#5 Passport Stamp: a book either written or published in different country then where you live
The Lovers
#6 Movie Passes: Book to Movie; (a movie you haven't seen)
Salmon Fishing In The Yemen, Film Tie-In
#7 Vacation Location: a book where the setting is in a vacation spot
A Vineyard in Tuscany: A Wine Lover's Dream
#8 Assess your Financials: a book that you own, borrowed or got from a library (actually I own all apart from the recommendation one, so that was very easy.)
Die Frau meines Lebens
#9 Reading Rainbow: cover with the colors or the words of the colors of the Rainbow; Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Indigo, or Violet.
I can definitely make intern, will see to everything else :).
I think I may have time to try this on either Saturday or Sunday this week. I also have the Friday after Thanksgiving off from work so I may try to do a lot of reading that weekend. I will let you know how it goes.
I'm participating in a read-a-thon this weekend from 1pm Saturday to 1pm Sunday so I might as well try and read books for this challenge. I'll only try for a temo just in case I haooen to read a load of random stuff instead of what I'm planning. One question - Does a book that you've started before the challenge starts count if you finish it during the 24 hours?
Lilac, yes, you can count books you started prior to the start time as long as you finish it within that period.
Good question Lilac - that means I should be able to knock off at least #5 by finishing The Makioka Sisters this weekend. :)
Just about finished the last book in time :)I never expected I would make Entry level so if I do this again it'll be quite hard to beat what I've done this time round. Here's what I read between 9pm Friday untill now (9pm Sunday):
#1 Mini Door Stopper:
#2 Series Lockout:
#5 Passport Stamp:
#6 Movie Passes:
#8 Assess your Financials:
Completed 5/5
