Chris (egret17) | 54 comments Someone is creating duplicate authors with a book title in the "author's" name - it looks like maybe by adding quotes with a book title in the author attribution field?

Marie Sexton correct author entry:
http://www.goodreads.com/author/show/...

Marie Sexton incorrect author entry:
http://www.goodreads.com/author/show/...

The one book entered under this name:
http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/12...

SHOULD be this book:
http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/74...

Another example -
Correct author entry for Belinda McBride:
http://www.goodreads.com/author/show/...

Incorrect author entry (with no books, just a quote):
http://www.goodreads.com/author/show/...

Paula (paulaan) | 7014 comments Yes - unfortunately if a user adds a quote and ignores the "just add author name" in the name field then a new author profile is created.

You can either edit the quote to move to the correct author profile ( and the there should be a script in the future to delete empty author profiles) or you can merge the two profiles together (better to do this is there are fans associated with the quotes) or if a GR author then post in the GR author merge thread for rivka to merge.

Edit: Sorted them out

Chris (egret17) | 54 comments Thanks, Paula - the authors in question are GRs authors, so I'll post in the other thread for rivka.
