ok...so i noticed that many books in the series have the series name in gray where u can click on it and see all the books in gray! how can you make a book like that and not in plain black?

I think that happens automatically when you create a series for a set of books.

I have added a book; a compilation of seminar papers with three editors and many presenters (or authors). Then, what should I fill for the author's name bar? I only filled the editors bar but Goodreads asked me to fill the author's name bar.

For books with no (or many) authors, use the editor(s). You can add "editor" as the author role for each.

Also, a lot of older books have the series name on the book title - I believe its from a previous time when the linkage of series didn't work properly and users were unable to find other books in the series through search unless the series name was part of the book title - and that doesn't add the hyperlink.

With that in mind, do we have a standard method of editing this? Has there been a concensus as to the need of keeping the series name on the title or should that remain in series tag only (I'm partial to the latter as it is a much cleaner view)

I have a book that has an anonymous compiler. It is currently in the database with the publisher as the author - which is not correct, unless the publisher and compiler are the same - there are dozens of authors. What is the correct way to record author in this case?

For that book everywhere I look shows Thomas Young Crowell as the author. In this instance I'd say his is the best name to put it under which is what I've done.

Agreed. That's the author listed on WorldCat, LoC (with a DOB and DOD consistent with the book's first pub date), and several other places.

In fact, LoC specifically lists him as the compiler.
