Renée Nope, and my bf just broke up with me after 6 years.... So it would make things a lot easier...

btw we have the cure already, we call it depression...

Sophie never in a million years would I take it

Jennifer No way! It's a horrible thing to lose all emotion, that's what makes us humans!!

Never! Love is a part of life, and a part of us! It doesnt matter if Love Hurts, it's supposed to. Pain is what makes us us. ^-^

george ☽ No. I'm a romantic at heart so to take away love would be... horrible! (I'm really in need of another adjective...)

Rachel At times I want to say yes but then I realize I wouldn't love anybody or anything and I have to say no...

Maya Not ever if i was getting paid 1 million dollars.

Olivia Never. I would never give up love. I mean, it isn't just the one on one type that I would give up, but also love towards your family.

Fatimah Never. Emotions are what makes us human. If we were cured, we would basically be acting like robots. And I'm a romantic at heart, so.. Definitely not.

Britnie No, never. Without love what would make life worth living? With out love you can't have true compassion, empathy, aspirations, happiness. I don't even think contentment would be possible for most. Life would pretty much be a series of motions, pointless.

Lea (Peeta's #1 Fangirl!) No..I wouldn't. Life would be this dull place where...nothing matters to you. I hated that Lena's mother couldn't love her. Not being able to love your family..That would be horrible.

Arushi No I feel like life would be soo dull. Nothing would spark interest or love. People would be so depressed and not want to do anything. No.

I wouldnt even be able to love my family and friends.

Andrea No no no nooooooo! That would almost be like killing yourself...at least, killing your mind and emotions, really. It would make life a lie. I can't really think of anything more original than, it would destroy one's human life in essence.

Randie D. Camp, M.S. I couldn't do it, but I could see why people/society would want to.

Jessica I would not. The fact that we feel pain just makes love all the more special.

little_red_ridding_hood If it weren't for the cure to also kill the love of the things that are special to me then I probably would have. But I love my friends and the things that make me, me. All of that would fade away as if it were never really there and I dont't want that to happen cause when you take the cure, your basicly starting all over with new friends and everything. I'd hate that. I want the cure without losing everything, but they don't have that option I don't think... lol

Jessica no way. no emotion means no life

Grace No way. Life would be bland and dull without love. Love is the last thing humans have that is magical. Alex was right, people who have love are "awake".

NH This question makes me think of Patrick McMurphy from One flew over the cuckoo nest. A lobotomized dummy. That's what you'd be like if you'd take the 'cure'.

Erika Nope, I would rather feel the emotions than feel nothing at all!

Diane I'm not sure if it affected ALL desires. But if it's just love then sure, I'd give it a go.

ria ☆ I say no. Love makes you feel alive it makes you see the world with new eyes. All your desires make up who you are. Plus, if it weren't for feelings I would think you wouldnt have a say in your ability to think.

Kimberly I would never take it. Giving up pain means giving up love and happiness too. In the book they keep saying that after the cure you can be happy. But people find happiness in the things they love. If you can't love anything then there is no way to be happy.

Sam if we were void of deep emotion, we would be no better than animals... and there's a reason why we're the highest state of creature...

message 25: by andrea (new)

andrea pacheco No way emotions are what make life exciting

Leonora Marie I can see why it makes society safer - no one cares about anything enough to do something dangerous, no crimes of passion...
But our emotions are what make us human. I would never give up my ability to love. What a dull and empty life that would be!

Mary It amazes me the children of the cured r anywhere normal. People void of emotion cannot raise children. Without love there is selfishness would any of the cured scarfice themselves for their children, wives, husbands, mothers, fathers? Without pain you can not experience joy either. It's so it resting how they even changed the Bible to fit their need to void love. As God is all about love.

Its kinda the same with wars. You'll see wars between religions but just because they're part-taking, they are totally going a against there beliefs, which is to keep peace. God is not about hatred and wars, but they still believe that the war is good for them. Kind of the same with this book.

Valerie No. Love makes the world go round.

Sharon Of course not! Then I wouldn't have any excuses for when I do something stupid...which is frequently!

Aahahahahahaha! I love that!

Kayla I don't really see a point in living without love. Sure, it can hurt, but it's also one of the greatest things in the world.

Jessica Never, even after suffering through a broken heart, I wouldn't have traded the experience of being in love even if I knew ahead of time how it would end.

Plus you're parents don't care about you at all, seems lonely
