dystopian young adult lit... wiki can do better than I can :)
I really enjoyed the first two books, but I wasn't totally happy with the last one. Most people loved it though! Easy reads.

I feel like pininterest is teaching me a lot about women. Not all women. Just the kind really into McMansions, fancy cookies, and the variety of trite inspirational sayings best displayed on refrigerator magnets.

sally -
Imagine a not-quite-so-great cross between the 70's Roger Corman "B" classic "Death Race 2000" and Stephen King's "The Running Man" but with kids instead of adults and you're nearly there.

Don't forget Jesus. There's A LOT of Jesus on there. And pearl-clutchers who get mad when they see the word "fuck" or a photo with sideboob.

Lucky. :)

clark - the trailer i saw made me think of children of the corn a bit
kristina - i don't like the phrases pearl-clutchers and side-boob in the same sentence even

I'm so out of touch. I had to search on this:
Pearl Clutcher: An uptight person, usually but not always female, usually but not always of conservative mores, who reacts with shock, feigned or otherwise, at other people's violations of decorum, propriety, morality, and so forth.
Someone got up at the PTA meeting and suggested the school hand out condoms to teenagers. The pearl clutchers in the audience nearly went into cardiac arrest.

Don't feel bad, I heard the term for the first time just a few weeks ago.

Yeah, you're right.
Yeah, you're right.

I went through sorority rush in the 1980s. Once was definitely enough.

Re the Hunger Games, I thought the first book was by far the best. I've also read Gregor the Overlander and enjoyed it.

Aside from designing the dome for St. Peter’s Basilica and continuing his practice as a sculptor, Michelangelo also worked tirelessly in old age to shape ... poster[iors].....

I think Tardis Catherine may be Clark's soulmate.
I vote that we call her Catherine T.
I don't like the sound of the word "tardis." It sounds philphy.

Pearl Harbor is a proper noun and should not be modified with the British "u."

Hey!

Tell it sister, tell it.
Tell it sister, tell it.

You say that like it's a bad thing.
I dunno... Some of Catherine's playlists are coated with hoof dust from the Four Horsmen of the Apocalypse. I can't hang anymore. Black Sabbath is as close as I'll venture to the Goat Lord.
But rock on, Catherine. It's a dirty job, but there's no one else around to do it.
