What is your favorite recent listen?

I have many choices staring at me and I've had luck with a number of audios lately. What is the best you have listened to in the past couple of months? I have two - Unclaimed by Courtney Milan and When Beauty Tamed the Beast by Eloisa James.

I have some extra credits at Audible and want to use a few based on your suggestions. I did just purchase Katie Lane's Going Cowboy Crazy based on your comments (I haven't listened to it).

was a great surprise. It's my favorite Julia Quinn audiobook. Sebastion and Anabel... *sigh* I've now officially listened to all available JQ books. Th narrator is Rosalyn Landor, who is not a favorite here, but I must say that she was wonderful in this JQ.

I loved are any of the other in the series this engaging and interesting. I started listening yesterday and I am finished already today. Book was awesome and I have read only one other book by the same author and it was horrible, so kindly point out those she has written that are good:)

Have you listened to Kiss at Midnight? It's the first book of that series. A version of Cinderella. I loved it as much as When Beauty Tamed the Beast. :)

Right now I can't find words for how much I'm enjoying .

It is most beautifully performed and the story is just gorgeous. I've owned the audiobook since the week it was released (like 2 yrs ago), waited until I was in the mood to appreciate this type of book... Im glad I waited because I am madly in love with the story. It's more than a romance. Well it's a dual story, so it's two romances: a contemporary Scottish romance and an historical romance. The action and plot outside of the romance is just as wonderful.

This is my favorite book that I've read this year, so far.

I've been on a re-listen kick and both of these series have been VERY prominent for that! I'm on Silver borne right now on re-listen and have finished all the books in the Kate Daniels universe. Helps me get through periods of overtime for work when we're getting ready to put out new software release.

I've been lucky with recent listens - seems to go in stages. Julie James Something About You followed by A Lot Like Love are definitely on my relisten list now. Karen White totally gets Julie James. And I just finished a relisten of Karen Robards One Summer narrated by Anna Fields - excellent.

I just finished a YA book, Pushing the Limits by Katie McGarry. It was narrated by MacLeod Andrews and Tara Sands. It was a very emotional book and made me cry several times, but had a very satisfying ending. MacLeod Andrews is quickly becoming one of my favorite narrators. So far I've listened to two of his young adult narrations, and I'm off to the library this week to pick up one or two Nora Roberts books that he's narrated.

Let's see -- I listened to THIS MAN and was blown away. Very high sexual content but riveting. (Well, I like high sexual content if it's well done). Tried a bunch and put them off for later. I've been rationing myself with the Laura Kinsale so decided it was time to treat myself with FOR MY LADY'S HEART. Sigh.

Ditto... The Winter Sea is my favorite new title in the last 30 days.... been doing alot of old favorite relistens... Though Reunion in Death had me nearly in tears at one point.

I enjoyed the Lady Emily series by Tasha Alexander. I don't know if it would be qualified as romance exactly, but it does follow the same couple as their relationship progresses. The only downside is 3 or 4 books in the series aren't in audio. I think the series changed publishers which may have something to do with it...

I've gotten hooked on Elizabeth Hunter's Elemental Fire series. Just finished re-reading the first three. Now rereading Jennifer Crusie's Fast Women. Nothing new in romance on Audible has caught my attention in quite some time.

I thought the Gabriel books were god-awful, and I've found tons of stuff on Audible in romance recently. Just goes to show how different everyones' tastes are.

I know the feeling. I have scratched my head so many times over books everyone seems to love but me. My latest realization came when I tried to get into the J.R. Ward Dark series. I know there are diehard fans but these may be the worst books I've ever read.

I recently listened to Laura Kinsale's Flowers from the Storm. And while I knew objectively that it was a very well written book and there was a time that it would have really moved me, I struggled to get through it. I think it is time for one of my periodic genre changes for awhile.

I want to give a big thumbs up for the following:

Before Jamaica Lane and Down London Road by Samantha Young. I really liked both.

I also really liked Beautiful Player and Beautiful Stranger by Christina Lauren.

They were all well narrated and kept my attention.

I couldn't get into the Gabriel books either. She seemed like a dishrag and he seemed like a douchebag.
( I might just have stumbled on to a new way of describing these kind of couples: Dishrag meet douchebag)

I've just finished Kristin Hannahs "On Mystic Lake" and "Winter garden"
both were very well written ,entertaining and had wonderful narration.
Jane Greens "Family Pictures was great as well!

I agree. I couldn't stand the first book, but to each their own as they say.

John Green's was an awesome read/listen very well narrated. Funny, sad, it was a book I couldn't put down. I highly recommend it.

My favorite recent read tends to be my LAST read since I almost always enjoy each romance audiobook. However, I have beeen enjoying Nice Girls Don't Have Fangs- it is laugh out loud funny. As in stopped at a light while driving and afraid people around me will think I am nuts because I am laughing so hard. I enjoy Molly Harper's wry wit and turn of phrase (she feminds me of SEP). One I plan to use in conversation- " She looked at me as if I had said kittens were the other white meat"......:-)

I had a similar experience with the Laura Kinsale/Nicholas Boulton combo. I know the writing is wonderful and the performance is outstanding, but I just can't handle all the angst. I guess I just prefer lighter entertainment.

I've just torn through the Kelley Armstrong Nadia Stafford books. Jennifer Ikeda has become one of my favorite narrators (she does the Deborah Harkness books) and these are so good I had to stop in the middle of the third one so I could string out the pleasure of it.

Of course it's all my buttons. Killer hero. (literally). Heroine with childhood abuse. Of course I love it.

I love the Nadia Stafford books, too. I read them first and then listened to them. They are definitely on my series re-listen list. They don't get as much attention, but I like them better than Armstrong's "Women of the Underworld" series.

If you love Kinsale/Boulton you will absolutely adore Tisdale/Wills. I recently listened to Rowan's Lady (Clan Graham #1) by Suzan Tisdale narrated by Brad Wills and it completely swept me away! The reviews on Audible were really good so I took a chance and used a credit... absolutely worth it!

If you have ever listened to Boulton he "performs" the narration and Wills does exactly the same. It's more than a narration it's a performance that just sweeps you away.
