David | 1 comments "Saint Leibowitz and the Wild Horse Woman" are worthy additions to the list of Christian fiction. "Canticle" is wonderfully ironic and darkly humorous, with characters that are rich and full. "Wild Horse" is good in fits and starts; the author, Walter M. Miller died (committed suicide) before completing it so his editor finished the story. I heartily recommend "Canticle" (5 stars and my review you may read--some spoilers MAY be present to proceed with caution...) may induce you to want to add it to your list. I also liked "Wild Horse Woman" but at times it was a little confusing--more political intrigue than was necessary and some of the characters' names were too similar to keep straight at times--but still an overall good read.

Morgan Nyberg Russel Hoban's "Riddley Walker" is set 1000 (?) years in the future. The "religion" of the culture is based on misinterpretation of iconography from (I think) Canterbury Cathedral. If you haven't read it, you must - a true classic.

Ian Loome (lhthomson) | 101 comments "Canticle" was wonderfully visual and spoke to the strength of the human spirit, but I admit to this day to being perplexed by its overall thrust or point.
