Peter Shapiro (peterdavidshapiro) | 5 comments Ghosts on the Red Line, the new novel by Peter David Shapiro has been generating good buzz from readers ("imaginative, strange account" "great read" "compelling storyline").

It's a different kind of ghost story that explores what happens when commuters on Boston's Red Line report seeing people whom they know have died. The Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority hires consultant Harry West to find the cause of these strange events. A prominent psychic becomes involved, along with the Archbishop of Boston, members of the Massachusetts House of Representatives, MIT researchers, Cambridge police, and a notorious gangster, all pursuing their own agendas.

In a nice bit of circularity, Ghosts on the Red Line is being advertised now on bright red posters in Red Line train cars.

Goodreads members are invited to take a look -- its available in paperback and as an ebook at Amazon.com and BarnesAndNoble.com -- and to let others know how they like it.

The fact that I wrote Ghosts on the Red Line has nothing whatever to do with my bringing this to your attention.

Susan Whoa! I think I'll stay away from the Red Line for a while! Congrats on the book, Peter. Nice to encounter a fellow Bostonian author. But I'll stick to the Blue line and the Green line. And my crime thrillers are set in New Orleans, where I lived for 9 years.

Check them out on my author page!

Peter Shapiro (peterdavidshapiro) | 5 comments Thanks, Susan. Congrats on producing your second novel. You certainly have a lot to work with in New Orleans. Concerning the Red Line, it should be safe to ride again now. The MBTA ended the visitations after consultant Harry West and his team discovered what was causing them. Actually they weren't ended completely; Harry and his ex-wife Alexandra Ben-Tov were able to replicate the attributes of the Red Line train cars in Visitation Rooms so that people could continue to meet their loved ones.

I'm curious how you get the word out about your crime thrillers. That seems to be the major challenge, after the fun of writing them is over.
