Dragana (diaryofthebookdragon) I just finished my final pick from Rebecca's recs for this month. The Host. I liked it very much. Gave it 5 stars. Great book. Although it was more sf than fantasy, it was still good. :)

Ruth Ann (ruthannsantiago) | 172 comments Finished "Daughter of Smoke and Bone". Very good book.

Oh, he is so annoying at the beginning of the book...it gets interesting later, though. Happy reading!

Christine | 955 comments I'm almost done with Dragon Actually (Dragon Kin, #1) by G.A. Aiken . This is my fourth book from the January PIFM recommendations, and probably my least favorite. It's a quick read and humorous at times, but the lead female character is downright abrasive at times. Still, I enjoyed it enough to want to check out the next book in the series.

I think this is the most books I've ever read from a PIFM in one month.

Skandia (sfgirl) | 972 comments Finished The Hunger Games today.
I liked it, not quite five stars book but a solid four!
Usually I don't read the dystopian fantasies but this one was definitely worth picking up.

~Leslie~ (akareadingmachine) | 1934 comments Dragana,

3/3 FINISHED!

Welcome the New Year Daughter of the Blood 1/26/12 ****1/2 stars
Wow,this was a great pick. I really enjoyed the dark world that the author created, though I am so annoyed that I now have another series I have to read! As a former rape crisis counselor, I found her story so interesting and I have to admit I haven't read feminist fiction in a long while. But what a great story, it's still stuck in my head. Loved it!!

During the New YearThe Wedding Bargain1/12/12 **** stars
Victoria Alexander has become a favorite author recently and she didn't miss with this one. Such an enjoyable read. Even when her storylines are cliched she manages to make them so much fun to read and so fresh. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book! Thanks for the pick.

Celebrate the New YearHow to Marry a Millionaire Vampire1/6/12 ***1/2 stars
I enjoyed this book. I would call it paranormal lite and it was a fun light read. Some really funny ideas and an interesting addition of religion. Thanks for the pick!

Looks like I just got to 2 this moth.
Loved Reunion in Death and thought The Next Always was a little repetitive. Like I've read it before, but it was good.

message 658: by Suzanne (new)

Suzanne (esmerelda1) | 2244 comments I just finished reading Magic Bites (Kate Daniels, #1) by Ilona Andrews . I'm listening to it on audio and there is a lot of stuff going on in the story. Lots of details, however I really liked it once I got into it. I'll definately be reading the next one for sure. ****

Mandy (mandypants) Marissa-Dono, Lately I've been reading my books a month after they've been recommended. *sigh* So, I broke the pattern and finished reading One Silent Night. Hooray! At least I finished one!

I found Welcome to the Monkey House, but couldn't find Slaughterhouse Five. We think it might be in storage. :-(

I've had this book for a while, I won an advanced readers copy. Over the weekend I picked it up and started "skimming" and ended up practically reading the whole thing, and then went out and got the second and third book and "skimmed" them too, lol. They were so good! There were a few mannerisms she did that annoyed me, but I overall like the story line.

Nancy H | 1111 comments Tiffanny wrote: "I'm having a hard time getting into The Book Thief. I'm afraid that I won't get it finished by Tuesday =("

Hi Tiffanny,
I had trouble getting into this one, too, but once I got into it, I felt like it really went fast. It took me about 100 pages until I was hooked, though, but then I got it done fairly quickly. It is a very good book about how the French had to survive during the Holocaust.

I finally got Divergent (Divergent, #1) by Veronica Roth from the library. Obviously, I won't get it read this month, but I'll probably start it tomorrow.
