Jennifer (ace_librarian) I just finished Immortal Prophecy (The Immortal Prophecy Saga) by Samantha Adams for review for the author, and I just read the foreward + 1st chapter of The Reading Promise My Father and the Books We Shared by Alice Ozma and I have completely fallen in love. =)

Like, swooooon!

I had mine removed 2 years ago, best thing I ever did. Ended up in hospital with obstructive jaundice due to it. Am now pain free. Good look with what you decide, I feel your pain :-( x

I don't know what to suggest. Is there nothing stronger they can give you? I remember when I had my gall bladder attacks I was in agony all over, in the end they ending up giving me really strong painkillers which helped :-(

Amy ~Lover of Books~ | 537 comments Mad: You're welcome! During the time when they got theirs removed, I was freaked if I would go through the same thing eventually, but my mom said I have her genes so I'll be fine.

message 106: by ★Meghan★ (new)

★Meghan★ (starinheaven) | 1455 comments My sister and my mom both had theirs removed. My sister's attacks were brought on mostly by stress. But even in the summer she kept getting them. At the time though she had a lot going on because she also had a cyst in her ovary that burst. She just got her gallbladder removed before the end of the summer to get away from one of the problems.

message 107: by Aneeqah (new)

Aneeqah | 227 comments MS- I hope you don't have to get it removed!!

I finished reading Everneath (Everneath, #1) by Brodi Ashton , which was pretty good.

message 108: by Mad Scientist (new)

Mad Scientist (madscientist) | 1119 comments Update: surgeon recommended having it removed. I'm a little freaked but I rather have it done now then have attacks while I'm in China. Surgery is on Tuesday. I wanted to wait a few days let me arms heal. They are black and blue from the three pokes. Apparently my veins refused to give them enough blood for tests.

Mad Scientist (madscientist) | 1119 comments me too! I'm sort of freaking out. I'm only 30 and I'm loosing an organ. Doesn't look too good for the future, in the holding up area.

But I do hope I never have to go through that pain again!

I know it is sort of late but I've slept all day so I'm off to read! It feels so good to say that. I feel like I've been sluffing off the last 48 hours.

No... I stopped taking them. They gave me huge headaches. I figure trading one pain for another isn't really necessary. If the pain gets too bad I do my Buddhist breathing. It has paid off to spend time in so many temples. I can focus myself on breathing and forget the pain, for the most part.

Mad Scientist (madscientist) | 1119 comments {Finished Listening}
Soulless (Parasol Protectorate, #1) by Gail Carriger I've read this one and now listened to it. I highly recommend this fun Steampunkery book.

{Started Listening}
The Historian by Elizabeth Kostova Where in the World Challenge & the Jan 2012 challenge.

{Finished Reading}
Eye of the Tempest (Jane True #4) by Nicole Peeler I love the snark so so much! I, nor you, could go wrong with the Jane True Series!

{Still Reading}
Death Cloud (Sherlock Holmes The Legend Begins, #1) by Andy Lane It really is sort of boring :(
Eat, Pray, Love by Elizabeth Gilbert Started in on India. Yes, finally to part/book two! Another rather boring book, with at least pockets of interest.

Amy ~Lover of Books~ | 537 comments Zakiya wrote: "Awesome!! I'll have to check on the release date. Thanks for the heads up :D"

I hope the date doesn't change like some other books I was looking forward to like Enshadowed (Nevermore, #2) by Kelly Creagh
I was looking forward to that one coming out this month, but it got pushed back til August of this year!

message 126: by Zakiya (new)

Zakiya LadyWings (zladywings) Woah! That's terrible! I hate it when that happens; you're all ready to be the first one at the store, only to find out the book's been pushed back for a few months. It's sometimes depressing, really. Especially for the books that you're really looking forward to!

And the synopsis! I got really excited when I got an ARC copy of it. It was pretty good, but it didn't blow my mind like other books have in 2012, like Hallowed and Under the Never Sky. Those are my top so far!

I've got a couple of sequels that I really need to pre-order this year! Especially Insurgent! That's my most anticipated this year. =)

I started Incarnate (Newsoul, #1) by Jodi Meadows today. So far, it's as good as the cover!

Zakiya LadyWings (zladywings) I'm not sure that I have a most anticipated for this year. I'm excited for all the books honestly.

At least it's only 6 months. The last Night World book by L.J. Smith keeps getting pushed back and now it's due out in 2014. The second book after Infinite Days was suppose to come out last summer, but got pushed back to this year.

I know it's ridiculous, but that is what Goodreads and another site said about that book.

Zakiya LadyWings (zladywings) This is retarded man. Well, she can't say that no one's been looking out for the book all the time. I'll probably have to reread the series for the second time in 2013-14 just to remember it all.

message 138: by Mad Scientist (new)

Mad Scientist (madscientist) | 1119 comments Getting arcs of a series is tough too. U read it & love it. Then u have to wait for the release and then the release of the next book. It can be so painful!

message 139: by Mad Scientist (new)

I envy people who get ARCs every week. Sure I have a a few from netgalley and one I won of Goodreads giveaway, but still.
--------------------------------------------------
I finished Crossed (Matched, #2) by Ally Condie Saturday night.

I've started So Silver Bright (Théâtre Illuminata, #3) by Lisa Mantchev yesterday and I'm also reading Halflings (Halflings, #1) by Heather Burch eARC version on my computer for review.

message 144: by Mad Scientist (new)

Mad Scientist (madscientist) | 1119 comments I do envy them too but I also know how stressed they are about reading arcs and books they own. Getting 5 books a week is alot for most to read and complete.

I only get a few a month. Maybe 3. I don't want to stress myself out. I prefer NetGalley bc they use less paper & I don't have stacks of books in my house. Plus, I take my nook & kindle everywhere.

I haven't been able to constentrate so I haven't read anything. But I did start and I'm liking a military novel, Vietnam war. The Cool Woman A Novel by John Aubrey Anderson The Cool Woman: A Novel

Anne (Booklady) Molinarolo (wwwgoodreadscomAnneMolinarolo) Mad Sci, I hope you are doing well. I have had 12 surgeries on my legs and hips that allowed me to walk. I purposely omit that a blood clot at birth messed with my legs, but I lived, loved, had a kid, worked, and have the freedom of driving my car. My life could've been worse; not complaining ;)

I'm halfway through The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern then I think I'll tackle 11/22/63 by Stephen King .

I don't do Audiobooks, and I'm being uncharacteristically slow this month. Mmmmm, don't know why, though.

I won a few ARC's on GR- once I won 3 or 4 in a week. Then, when I got them, I didn't feel like reading them. So now I only rarely enter the giveaways. Only when I'm positive I'll read the book- it has to be a favorite author, usually. I was thinking of doing netgalley, but I just don't like writing reviews. I'd rather use that time to read.

message 147: by ★Meghan★ (new)

★Meghan★ (starinheaven) | 1455 comments I have Halflings as an eARC as well. I really have to get around to it. Maybe one of these days...

message 148: by Mad Scientist (new)

Mad Scientist (madscientist) | 1119 comments I love arcs but I lobe reading what I want when I want. I'm a random reading who reads from so many genres & I don't like being tied down. It's hard for me to stick w a schedule. I can pick out 10 books I want to rea that month and only read two bc I roam to others. But that's how I read. I love reading and I don't want to make it a job I dislike.

Amy ~Lover of Books~ | 537 comments I finished Halflings (Halflings, #1) by Heather Burch last night and I still need to write a review for that book.

I'm still reading So Silver Bright (Théâtre Illuminata, #3) by Lisa Mantchev and I need to start reading Concealed (Concealed, #1) by Sang Kromah that I received from the author for an upcoming blog tour which my date is January 25th. It'll be my very first time for a doing a blog tour!

message 150: by Mad Scientist (new)

Mad Scientist (madscientist) | 1119 comments I hope u enjoy being apart of a tour!

Still unable to read more then a few pages at a time. Not trying to push myself though. Sleep & healing is more important.
