I wouldn't not read a book just because it didn't have graphic depictions of sex. But, I'm not going to lie, I like my PNR steamy and tend to gravitate towards that.
I don't read a book because it does or doesn't have sex in it. I read a book because it's good. But I also don't want to read a book where I'm constantly teased with sex. Either have it or don't unless it is an intrical part in the story where we need to be teased.
I'll read it I like books with great world building, the steamy parts are just a nice bonus ~.^ I'm curious, does it has a HEA? If not, wouldn't it be more Urban Fantasy then?
HEA = happy ever afterto me it is about the chemistry and reactions of the main characters not the actual sex

Thank you :) In answer to your question - you don't need sex in a book for it to be worth reading. The Kitty Norville books (at least the ones I've read) are all "closed door" and it doesn't affect my enjoyment at all.
I don't need sex in a book. I agree that it should be related to the plot or characters, and I do enjoy some steaminess, but not when its the whole book. That's why I quit reading the Anita Blake books.
I used to love Laurel Hamilton vampire books but then it turned into sex books with no story at all. Same with her fairy series. No story just non-stop boring sex.
I had always thought that PNR was steamier than UF. Either way, I love the build up, but don't mind the lights dimming down for the sex.
I have to say thank you to everyone who's responded so far. I've really been doubting the markability of my story. Next year is the year I've committed to getting at least a 1st draft finished. I'm so glad I joined her, and thank you all again!

My book is a werewolf book, make no doubt, but it doesn't have sex as a main focus. And it may, depending on where the muses take me, have a decidedly Christian bent. (My werewolves get their fur on through heredity,) am I barking (pun intended!) up the wrong tree?
