People always say The Host is slow at the beginning but I don't think so...
I tried to get my friend to read it but she found it confusing and she stopped =/
Loved Nevermore and Varen! It reads much more like a realistic romance. The paranormal aspect doesnt come in till much later, but it comes in swinging! Also, its very long, so you have to love the characters to get through it. Luckily I did. When I ordered it from the library I didnt realize it was so long, then it came and I was like, "Holy #$^@!" But it went by so fast and I actually couldnt get through it fast enough! I was like, "Come on brain! Read faster!" I couldnt wait to find out what happened. The way Isobel and Varen developed so slowly, and without them even having to say anything about it. Most of the book is just them sitting around talking and studying, but everything they say and do is weighed down with so much subtext. It was intense! I thought so anyway. And Varen is simply smoldering! When he wrote his number on her hand in the first chapter, and from the time when she was trying to get a peak of skin when he was attaching his wallet chain to his belt, I was hooked!

I loved Nevermore so much, it took awhile for me to really get into it, but once I did, I couldn't put it down. It's so long and a book like that would normally take me a week, but I finished it in three days. I really need Enshadowed, I was so prepared to snatch it up in January, but it got pushed back to August, but I bet it'll be worth it:)

Wow, that's fast. I read it in 4 days.
Anybody have an idea of what Varen would look like or who would play him if there ever is a movie?

Pretty good. I always pictured the guy on the cover, but this guy is pretty.

I have it on my physical bookshelf, I just wish I had it on kindle, so I could pull it up whenever I felt like reading it.
